I understand that Tony is pissed off with the current situation going on with his team and I would be too, but sometimes I think he needs to stop talking to the press all the time about it. Brings back flashbacks of the jason kidd situation.

With what he went through last season in SA, I'd be surprised if he played for them other than maybe next Olympics. The WCs mean zip. They already have an Olympic berth because they are the defending Gold medalists. Let the younger players start to get experience. They'll have to take over the team eventually, anyway.
I thought I heard him say that he was taking this summer off and he was probably going to play in the World Championships next summer since that's the only thing he's missing now. I know he really wants to but I wish they all didn't play during the summers.

Tony's situation is quite different than Manu and Tim. If Tony doesn't play, France would need something close to a miracle to qualify to the World Championships or the Olympics. Even with him playing, France will need something close to an excellent tournament to qualify, (in theory) when you compare their squad with the big names like Spain, Serbia & Montenegro, Lithuania, even with second rate teams like Greece, Turkey, Italy, Slovenia or Russia.

So that's why Tony is playing in the qualifying tournament, without him France doesn't have a chance of playing any of the two major events.

France has just won 3 times in a row (Ukraine, Bulgaria, Turkey), only the Turkey win really counts haha

That's encouraging and TP did good with 20 pts and 7 ast.

Fred Weis will be on the french team, he sucks ass but France really needs him.
He's 2,17 m (a 7 footer, taller than Duncan I think) and he can help rebound, block and take some space.
He was called at the last minute because most of our forwards are hurt (Masingue, Turiaf) and Petro (Sonics rookie) prefered to work with the Sonics organization.

He wasn't supposed to be on the French team (that's why he didn't go to the Mountain Trip) but the team really needs him and he decides to accept the selection following the injury of Masingue, Digbeu wouldn't bring anything to the team anyway..

Beno is good but Tony probably broke Beno's ankles more than his fair share of times at practice

Tony did not play today vs Italy. Sorry, I had to use Babelfish for the translation, sounds as though he had a sore calf. France still won 83-75 with Diaw of the Suns and Rigaudeau formerly of the Mavs playing point.

"Spared Tony Parker and Mickaël Pietrus the leader of the French selection did not take part in the meeting vis-a-vis in Italy, just like his fellow-member Mickaël Pietrus. The two players were spared for EruoBasket which begins in three days. Tony Parker suffers from one diminishes with the right calf, which was confirmed by an echography Tuesday midday. The player who took part in the training sessions in Milan will carry out his return Thursday in Belgrade. On its side Mickaël Pietrus which was not spared since the beginning of the preparation, from a aponévrosite plantar left suffers. The winger of the "Warriors" should also take again the drive Thursday."

If someone told me I couldn't listen to music after the age of 12, I would step on their face.
