    People still don't understand this?

    This is misleading.

Tim Duncan is not going to have a higher rating than LeBron James because LeBron is quicker, more athletic, better ball handler, better passer, better 3 point shooter, better at stealing the ball, better at dunking, better at Free Throws. That is the truth, so when you add up all his overall ratings in a Video Game he is going to be higher than Tim Duncan who's main strengths are somewhat harder to show in a video game.

We know Tim Duncan is a more effective and important player than LeBron James, but in a Video game which can't replicate intangibles, the tangible things that you can see and measure will place LeBron higher than Tim.

why can't a video game replicate intangibles??? Trust me, if they wanted Duncan to be on top(where he should be) they could. This ranking is just the opinion of the developers.

They figure the little kids, will prefer to play Lebron KG and Kobe and not Duncan. And they're right.

And the worst part about it is that Lebron KG and Kobe didn't even make the playoffs.

Tell me how a Video Game can replicate Tim's ability to position himself in good spots, play fantastic team position D, be composed and play under control in pressure situations, step it up when the team needs it as well as replicating his fantastic footwork. Sure they can up his inside scoring rating, his defensive and offensive awareness ratings, but they aren't nearly as important in a Video game as Speed, Athleticism, Ball Handling, Shooting and Dunking.

It's a video game. It doesn't factor in who's team got into the playoffs. It's based solely on the individual player's skill sets. That is why Shaq and Duncan rate lower, their FT ratings brings them down. Guys with all around skill sets will always rank higher in these games, thus KG, Kobe, Lebron, McGrady and Marion are ranked high.

Actually all those (and more) things could be programmed. This is an example of some attributes from a soccer game:

And there are even more stats that don't show up in the pic, like injury proness, right foot ability, left foot ability, important matches, adaptability, loyalty, discipline, a different ranking for each position (e.g.: Manu could get a 20/20 as Shooting Guard, a 15/20 as point guard, 5/20 as SF, 1/20 as center). So actually, all those things can be programmed.

Ever since Antoine Walker got a rating of 91 that is just pure bull . I don't care about the ratings on nba live. I just figure that it would be way off.

Is that Championship Manager? Because that is a completely different game based on stats, and other boring stuff. Not a good comparison.

Even then, tell me how when you are actually playing the game like on NBA Live instead of simming it on Championship Manager, that Tim Duncan's ability to pivot well without travelling will make him more useful in a game than Amares Stoudamire and his ability to jump extremely well?

don't know i play on PC cause the mods are so easy. You can however open up those ratings files in MS excel or similar program. The file you need to open to view the stats is players.dbf

Then theres catagories and ratings for each player. Hope that helps. I think there are some console based rosters around (check the forums) those same sights somewhere i believe.
