    Typical cliche, vanilla take.

Like I said, 7 of the top 8 are back for a team that, for a year plus, hasn't looked like the same caliber team they were. Anyone pretending there's no carryover and thinks this is just about integrating Aldridge and expanding Leonard's role, is either fooling themselves or hasn't been paying attention.
You do this every ing year. Talk about vanilla and cliche... just start watching in mid-february if you can't handle the early season...

We can shoot like and lose this game. It means absolutely zero to what this team can look like in March

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it's close throughout, either. No one should be, considering 7 of the top 8 players are back and this is now a team that, in a season plus, has struggled mightily (relative to previous standards) to create and maintain separation . . . but none of that is a viable excuse.
Without the 3 ball falling at a decent rate, we are not blowing by teams. We should buckle down and get ready. If we don't turn the ball over at a ridiculous rate though, we should be fine. I expect a win, but not a blowout if Charlotte has the 3 ball going.

You mean have original, well thought out opinions?

Like last year, when the vast majority of you fools were caught up in the fools gold surge to end the season, I was the one (prophetically and correctly) predicting an early playoff demise.

Make your bull excuses all you want, the bottom line is this: It's been a year plus of this. At some point, this team needs to begin to prove itself capable of blowing out teams they should. They come out flat damn near every game and piss themselves damn near every close game down the stretch, at some point, that's who they are.

I actually enjoy most of his posts, but the panicky stuff happens almost every year. Maybe I just don't say anything and expect it.

No panic; just observation. A year plus of these disturbing trends . . . how much longer are you going to ignore them?

It shouldn't take Aldridge seamlessly fitting in or Leonard's role expanding going perfectly for them to put their foot down on the throat of a bottom feeder once in a while.

What about late December 2013 when you panicked about beating OKC, much less winning the championship? We had a long ass discussion back then when you lost faith again.

This is actually a much different team, and they simply don't need to be their best 6 games into the season. There's time for trades, injuries, all sorts of things. Pop will toy with linueps until the All Star break, like he always does.

Prognosticating that they won't win it all it's the easiest thing in the world. You will always have the greatest odds. Maybe we'll become the best team we can be or maybe not. But we won't really know until Feb/March, with all the pieces in place, everyone adjusted, etc.

that TD 21 November meltdown per par tbh.....

Am I the only one that meant it when I said I was gravy after the 2014 'ship? I was fine after the 1st round exit and I'll be fine whatever happens to the team this year....

I'm just happy watching Manu/Timmy play out their last years in the league with some dignity, not like that got Bean in SoCal tbh......

Well, it's not just them. Tim clearly has taken a lesser role to heart to accommodate Aldrige. Tony is adjusting to a new role. West looks like a deer in headlights. Pop has a love/hate relationship with Danny and Kyle right now.

He's getting to know his players and lineups. It's a process. It takes time. Hopefully chemistry will improve and we'll look better by the All Star break. And if we don't, we don't. Maybe it's not this year but next year.

Right now though, enjoy the ride, understand there's going to be growing pains, and we'll have a better look in a couple months.

Yeah, or the fact that we're undertaking this rebuild on the fly with a respectable coach, not Byrn Sctt

Back from the bar scene in Riga. Some Argentine tourist stole the girl I was chatting up away from me. So, Manu needs to amend big time with a great game!

Back to the game, this team has had some dominant defensive performances for stretches. It would be nice to see more of that for longer stretches. Unfortunately, it all comes crumbling when West comes in, but hopefully Pop plays with the rotations so the dip is not as big.

Nothing is "alarming" or "concerning" in early November...

Wouldn't you say that playing West early in the season is a necessary evil? We need to find out what he'll bring to the team. A player of that caliber can't rot on the bench.

Sure, if you want to integrate him, now is the time. I just hope he can play alongside Kawhi, Danny or Tim and have some help defensively. That's all I meant about tweaking the rotation.
