Rasho is picking up a lot of fouls lately. Do you think it is because he just got back from playing international ball and the calls there are different?

Finley looked like he was getting the flow of the offense though he took a couple of ill-advised shots. He does give effort on D --it really didn't matter against TMac -- but I remember a sequence where he chased Wesley through and around multiple screens to bother his shot. He's trying, so I can't complain.
Finley can keep a guy in front of him and force him into a difficult jump shot but it doesn't always matter with guys like McGrady. They make those shots and make them look easy at that.

He'll give the effort, he'll get a hand in front of a guys face, he'll chase them around, try to deny them the ball, but he will never be a stopper like Bowen.

Pre-season you can take more chances because you don't have to worry about being available for the whole game. Some of those chances he would never take in the regular season. As for last night, he was SICK of Motombo's elbows. He and Dikembe went toe-to-toe at one point.

My comments about Nazr have to do with the fact that he has been away from the team for an entire week and is not even in San Antonio. I know he had a baby, but most men don't get to take an entire week off work when a child is born. It is time for him to get back to basketball. He has ALOT to learn and looked very poor in the scrimmage in the VI and against Miami. And please, for anyone who has lost a parent, don't compare this to the DEATH of someone. If he wants to be around his baby, she should have had it here. They can surely afford to fly in all the famiy to SA to help that they want. And for the record, I HAVE A CHILD. He was born on a Sunday night at 9:00 PM and his father was at work the next day.

Its preseason, get off your high horse, no one cares about him missing this game, hes got more than enough games left, and the guy when the team runs the system is a of a player who will only get better.

Just because YOUR husband had to be at work the next day doesn't mean the Spurs aren't letting Nazr.

How do you know, there might be something wrong with his wife or child, how do you know whats going on??

    Give me a break.

Parker fouled Wesley during halftime shootaround.

The Express-News flying blunt dropped none of it's precious cargo of Spurs wristbands before it crashed into our section a la Black Sunday. Oh, the humanity.

the supremely fit male dancer, who hadn't lost a step since his run as Jonathan on "Who's the Boss."
    Good stuff CD.

On a side note, why does the coyote only shoot T-Shirts to patrons in the lower bowl...the ones who can obviously afford to BUY T-Shirts from SBC vendors without taking out a second mortgage on their home. Are the Spurs worried people in the balcony level will reach out over the edge and take a nosedive from way on high?

No - the weak fat chicks were throwing the free pizza frisbees to folks in the third row courtside for chrissakes.

Those crackers have worse hands than Nazr, btw.

    Oh, one more thing.

Sharrod Ford should make the team because he was the only guy who could stop TMac.

Ford took him out of the game with a leading knee to the gut on a fastbreak drive.

Somewhere, on his bulldozer, Karl Malone is smiling.

    Great summary and humor Chump!

Oh, and you're not a totalspurshomer, totalspurshomer. Great take about the so-called "statement". Their collection of guys beat the Spurs' collection of guys.

Tracy is about all Houston has, unless Yao stops being overrated. I was expecting Tracy to beat Dallas in the playoffs pretty much by himself, since the games were pretty close, a few late shots would have done it, but he mostly choked. A huge, entertaining, dangerous talent, like Vince Carter, but so far not a winner.

So, I wasn't the only one!
Yao keeps getting in too much foul trouble. He does not play at a high enough level consistently. He also has stamina issues which are based on conditioning probably.

    He has skills, but...
T-Mac really stepped it up in the playoffs, becoming more than just a shooter/scorer, he deed up against Dirk and did an excellent job. He was a tremendous leader. My opinion is not worth the paper its printed on but his stock went up in my book.
If only he got more support from Yao.

In my opinion, the only teams that will be really great and successful in the playoffs are those who have a consistent low post scoring threat at either center or power forward. Houston is right on the edge of that.

gotta agree with you (for once) T Park, who gives a for some nobody that cares more about their job than their family, guess what jackass (Ploto) the Spurs put family first that's what's make them 1st class. Unlike your husband my employer puts family first, they value their employees. Maybe your husband should get an education so that he doesnt have to work at McDonalds the night you next child is born. Or maybe you husband used work as an excuse to get away from you.

ploto point being its not your place to call someone out on behalf of the Spurs managment and the policy they have with babies etc.

Secondly he was recently fasting for Radaman. Someone can confirm if thats still happening I dont know but I think thats going to make basketball difficult for a while.

I agree. And it needs to get back on track. The Spurs usually tell players to take as long as they need in regard to family matters. So, I don't think anyone should judge whatever is going on with Nazr.

Anyway, let's get back on track ...

Start thinking about the Houston fans needing Head.

Aww man, I was sooo hoping San Antonio would get him, not for the talent, Fans coulda had so much fun with that name, and when he would walk into the locker room, he would instantly cheer up the other Spurs players.

But of course we got mahinmi, I actually had to replay a Dr. Pepper commercial a few times, could have sworn that they were saying his name.
    Ma hum ma nah!

no reason to criticise, Dr Crosby, prehaps Narz is not a Dr that needs to be at work. Either way you are going way to orderboard to say that Spurs (or any other employer) make employees perfessional work more important than family duty. While I doubt your husbands duty you caused him to cross the line (work more important than family). Go back to your normal duty Mc Carthy I am sure your race would approve. All of my doctor friends have said that family comes first. And for the good ones the company is willing to comply.

Maybe Bush's medican does work that way?

    Could someone translate this, please.

For someone who claimed someone else should get an education, your spelling and grammar are atrocious.

I am amazed with all the crap posters have said about other Spurs players that a simple statement that a week is enough time for paternity leave would incur such ire. As for putting family first, then why don't all the players who had babies just take the whole year off. Why don't they refuse to go to away games because they don't want to leave their wife and kids? There has to be a limit.

Ummmmmm, ok. During preseason and a holy time for his faith? Got it.

Anyhow, the game. I was sad to miss it - of course, I was in NB, while they are airing the Houston preseason locally . . .

I think Head was a great pick up for the Rockets, and Kori, you have just convinced me it would be worthwhile to go to a Rocket/Spurs game for that alone.

Every time I think about it, I giggle.

As for Yao - well, he has improved. He has nights when he is unstoppable. Unfortunately he also has some really, really bag nights, and last year's playoff showed that he is not capable of carrying or leading his team. So, yeah, he's a marshmallowey soft center.

I still have much respect for TMac, earned by his play and behaviour last year, and I think the Rockets are one of our biggest threats this year (with seeding placement alone - the 7 or 8 seed is much easier to beat than the 5 seed).
