1. TMac went wild in the first half with Bowen not playing him. 21 points in 18 minutes or whatever is just sick. Bowen looked disgusted my the defensive (lack of) effort.
2. Stephen Graham tries hard but he's not ready for the NBA.
3. Sharrod Ford is one of the worst free throw shooters I've seen in a while.
4. Rasho hit the glass pretty hard but he was a fouling machine.
5. Manu to Sean Marks is a good thing. Marks had back-to-back dunks on passes from Manu. The second one was a sick flying dunk that was a thing of beauty in its own right.
6. Eva waved to Tony on the bench .. and he waved back. At least it was during a timeout.
7. Pop really doesn't care about preseason.
8. When the Rockets' rookie is on the bench and the fans want him in the game, will they get in trouble for chanting "We want head. Give me head." ?
That's all.
#1 was just not right. they should keep somebody on T-Mac at all times possible
# 3 I think they are players in the league that aren't that good at free throws.
# 6 Marks & Gino are a good pair when they have their nights.
# 8 Is just flat out weird. but i can picture a bunch of fans chanting that.![]()
Oh, someone was on him -- They were just getting lit up.they should keep somebody on T-Mac at all times possible
Rasho started!!!!!!!![]()

then the Spurs have to come up with a strategy on how to keep him down.
They have one. His name is Bruce Bowen and he was getting a rest.
that i forgot.
sorry i haven't been thinking staight today![]()
I wonder what chance Marks has of seeing the active roster this year. At points last year, he was the very good. I wonder how far off the wagon Rasho has to fall before they give Marks a shot at the Roster.
I'm not to optimistic about this with the kind of depth we have this year, but I love the way this guy plays and would love to see him on the court.
So I guess he made the team?
I asked Pop in the postgame if he thought Marks would get into the rotation. He said it's too early to tell.I wonder what chance Marks has of seeing the active roster this year. Truth be told I haven't seen a single game this preseason so everything I get is second hand from the forum. But the forum has been high on this guy, and one of the things I always loved was his hustle near the rim and his at ude in regards to finishing; Marks doesn't around he goes up to dunk.
Nazr does that as well, but Marks has a much better range and I think he puts in much more effort. Nazr is more athletic and seems to be a better "raw" player but Sean makes up for a lot with his heart.
Anyway it plays out, it looks like the Spurs made the right move in bringing him back. If nothing else the Kiwi is a damn good guy to have around due to his experience in the system. In an emergency he can quickly step in and provide a stop gap.
Who started out on him? Finley or Barry?
One thing about Marks though is he's super fragile. He has a sleeve on his calf (I'm assuming some kind of pulled muscled). He was holding his knee. And he fell hard and I thought he wasn't going to get up. He's ALWAYS injured/banged up. That's why I think he'll never be a rotation player.
And another thing. The Tmac situation is one where unless Finley plays way higher than expected we are actually going to miss Devin Brown. When Bruce went to the bench Devin came in and at least provided a decent defensive effort. Now, the drop off in perimeter defense when Bowen leaves the floor is much greater. I think in the end what Finley adds will be more than he subtracts by far but this is something to consider now.
Well Manu will usually get the defensive assignment when Bowen is out if it's one of the elite players. At most, Finley/Barry will need to hang in for just a few minutes a game against players of TMac's caliber.
I thought Rasho looked pretty good and active out there. That Gino to Marks dunk was absolutely SICK, I hope ESPN has that on SC later! Coach Don was saying after the game how they played alot more zone than they normally would, and well I thought their overall defensive effort sucked ass. But I had a good time, especially sitting so close (Thanks again Melissa!!!). It felt really good to be back in the SBC watching the Spurs play, I can't wait to go again!
It's kind of funny how we are so close to winning in the 4th quarter with our scrubs in, but so far it's just slipped through our fingers. I'm not counting on an 0-9 preseason as it seems some people are lol. Coach Don says that in the coming week the minutes will be solidified and everyone will start getting their together basically.

My favorite thing about the game is going to box score on espn and seeing everyone's name and then their position next to their name, check out Sean Marks' position.

I don't know why they didn't put up the Stephen Graham and Finley interviews too. Maybe I can put it up on WOAI.com tomorrow.
Interesting. We had a bad preseason record last year also, didn't we?
What is happening with Big Dog? I sure would like to keep him.
This is how I would rotate our players
starters
Nazr
Tim
Bowen
Manu
Tony
Serious time (in both senses)
Finley
Horry
Oberto
NVE
Other contributors
Barry
Rasho
Beno
Marks
Someone will get mad at me but in important close games, late in the fourth
I would play
NVE, Horry, Tim, Manu and probably sub Bruce and Michael on defense/offense subs utions.
I would play Finley 20 minutes a game, NVE 10 to 15 minutes, Manu 30 minutes, Tim 36 minutes, Nazr 30 minutes, Oberto 15 minutes, horry 15 minutes (definitely during crunch time) Bruce 25 minutes... Barry 20 minutes
Tony 30 minutes.
I strongly believe that NVE should play in place of Tony at the end of the game for several reasons (1) NVE is a much better offensive player who can get hot, (2) I think he will make better decisions and turn the ball over less (although Tony did not turn the ball over at the end of game 7 and (3) I think NVE has a lot to offer our team in an area where we are not super strong and (4) It is important to show our confidence in NVE.
It looks like Rasho is going to stay here from what the posters here say. That could turn out to be a help since we might play the Heat in the finals (poor Oberto).
What do you all think?
