so, i don't need to go to medical school and specialize in orthopedics? i just need to read all about it on this thread? i don't need to see Leonard's medical records. Hearsay and speculation are good enough?

That exactly what Tim Grover and myself disagree with in regard to Pop's resting schemes. You can't learn to push yourself mentally when you are fatigued or have physical pain. The Spurs don't seem to allow players to learn to play through that. As long as it doesn't make the injury or injuries worse, you should learn to be able to play through some things and push yourself mentally.

You also don't build up any conditioning for playing big minutes in the playoffs if you're resting all the time in the regular season and also playing lower minutes. That doesn't set you up for success in the playoffs.

Does a runner train for marathons by running 5K runs?
Yes, they do. It's not their focus but they run them. The whole resting thing to me is a focus in optimizing the player's health and longevi y. Guys like kawhi are elite athletes, conditioning isn't an issue for them

Maybe a bad example (I'm not a runner), but let me ask again, does a runner only run 5k runs while training for a marathon with no other endurance or longer run training?

Anyway, Tim Grover (Jordan's former trainer) disagrees with you and so do I,

Damn, that's worrisome. Any examples of other players experiencing tendinosis early in their careers like Kawhi?,

Yes, because Pop loves to take changes with an injury if its GSW.

Tendinosis is a specific type of tendinopathy. I don't know for sure if it is tendinosis but I've heard that thrown around in reports.

So tendonosis and tendonitis are completely different?
Tendinitis is merely an injury to the tendon that causes inflammation. It doesn't have to become a chronic issue but it can. Tendinosis on the other hand is a chronic degenerative condition of the muscle fibers in the tendon and much more serious.

Sounds like Kawhi is about two weeks away from NBA action.... after he starts participating in full practices. So like, January then?

Damn my hater may have been calling it..Kawhi can't yet wipe his ass with his own hand at this stage....

It would be a shock to see him comeback in November since Parker, while ahead of him in the rehab processs , is few more weeks away from returning acording to Pop....

Starting to feel like a lost season for Kawhi..He is almost surely out of running for any award or All-NBA team distinction ..

Popovich was asked if Leonard will have to go through the same procedure as Parker, who returned to the Spurs on Tuesday after spending Monday working out with the Austin Spurs.

“Sure,” Popovich said. “I wouldn’t want him to go right from rehab to jumping on the court. He has to go three on three, five on five, feel comfortable. Because in the end that confidence is what…Anybody who has been out any length of time has to get that back even if the doctors say, ‘Yep, you are ready to go.’ You really aren’t until you are mentally ready to go.”
Does this mean Kawhi could practice with Austin Spurs like Parker? Working doesn't mean playing but if he plays a game for them..Def I'd buy tickets.
