Regardless of his limitations, he's clearly better and cheaper than Gasol.

Because he was/is a subpar NBA player, maybe?

Dedmon should pay a commission to Pop on each contract he gets. Almost every scrub that shines on the Spurs gets a nice contract to go sucking somewhere else, showing his real value.
And still better than the corpse formerly known as Pau Gasol.

    can shoot the 3.
mobile big so he can defend the perimeter
    great rim protector

    why did trade this guy?
You forgot 7 million dollar contract. Pop rather gave 16 million per year to Pau including another 5.1 million he has to pay him next year

Dedmon didn't shoot 3s when he was here
Dedmon didn't shoot 3s or midranges here because Pop wouldn't let him. It was clear that he had a decent midrange jump shot, but Pop didn't let him use it

Didn't say he was averaging 15-20. Rather he has played that many minutes in a lot of games.

    He's had a 27, 4 separate 18s, a 16, a 15 all since he came over in mid Feb.
Haven't followed the last week or so. What the is up with 4 straight DNPs.
Does Brown follow CIA Pop type stuff?
No, brown just played him enough to realize he sucked.

He didn't shoot 3s in Orlando, either. It's a new thing for him, it appears.

I get it. The front office makes some questionable moves. But more often than not, them letting a player walk is a thoroughly assessed decision and the best one. Guys like Dedmon and Simmons probably wanted more than they were worth. PATFO saw this and knew they didn’t need them that badly. The results of the continued careers generally speak for themselves.
Yes, instead they gave Gasol 48 million for 3 years, he was definitely worth that

Simmons isn't that good of a player and Dedmon like many stated didn't show and or have the green light to shoot 3 pointers like he does else where. Not too many of the guys the Spurs let walk they regretted. Jamychal Green is the last guy I can think of and he isn't a world beater but a solid rotation guy at best

while I agree, solid guys with defensive mentality is the type of player who is currently lacking in this team

    & Nazr Mohammed

    then again, we took McDyess
Antonio actually had a really good play-off series in 2010, he wasn't an allstar calibre player like he had be before blowing out his knees but he was a fairly solid starter who put in 20+ minutes per game fought for rebounds and was pretty cheap and reliable.

and took the Lakers cookie in 2011 and the next day it actually snowed in San Antonio
