    Must really love Wemby

Great news, tbh. No one I'd trust more to bring Wemby along at the proper speed. The last thing you want as an organization is a head coach who is feeling pressure to win ASAP that starts putting too much on Wemby's plate too soon.
Really loves Jeremy and Tre too

Damn. The three-year, $14 million per year sounded pretty much settled the last I checked in. I wonder if they got him to commit to two more years by giving him $2 million extra per season. Or maybe there aren't as many opt outs.

Whatever the case may be, this is an awesome turn of events, IMO. The last thing we need as Spurs fans is for a coach to come and do what Jeff Van Gundy did in Houston -- run Yao into the ground chasing extra wins so he doesn't get fired.
i wonder if Wembanya family and friends had something to do with it. Maybe they asked him directly or indirectly
That said last year he really looked like he was enjoying himself

Great news, we get to keep the winningest coach of all time. I do worry that he might have a stroke while yelling at some future rookie to play defense. Yelling just probably gets his blood flowing.

Judging by those stories about how generous he is with tips and lavish team dinners, not to mention unheralded gifts, he gives away millions a year.
Whatever makes him sleep at night
He should have stop coaching and took care of his wife before she passed

    "I'm done when Timmy's done"

Proceeds to coach for 12 more years.
Tbh, his wife was still alive when he said that.

Man. Top prospect in a generation, a potential trove of future lottery picks over the next five years, and Pop at the helm.

    Not bad. IMO

I hope the haters die choking on their moms over this.
Me too also hope he fires more truth nukes on Trump as he deflects from post game interview questions pop
Gonna have so much ammo come election tome …
And if Trump wins pop will give us 5 years of skewering
    This great for Wemby
Great for nba media and free thinkers
Bad for Trumpers and conservatives who don’t want politics and sports to mix …
Shut up and coach !! Lol

Please less threads on how much you hate Pop Mul roll surely you cant keep that up for five more years
I will continue to provide timely, topical, inciteful threads. If it involves Pop, so be it.

As to my surprise at this extension? Zero. Been stating all along the Spurs will retain him to at least age 80.

As to my hope? That great players in their own right can surround Wemby ala Timmy Dunks for about 2/3rds of his time here.
Will be required as was with Duncan to offset Pops meddling.

Pop gonna put that coaching win record out of reach
Sure should unless Doc scams his way into another gig or Spoelstra coaches till he himself is 70.

Pop should really move up the all time Ls too.
He was gonna surpass Doc anyways and now he's gonna chase down Jack Ramsey and George Karl will be next.

When all is said and done Pop my have the most Ws and Ls and be untouchable.

Myself? I only want more Legit Championships. Praying hound dog jpeg the Spurs can get very good, even great players ala GNob Parker Horry etc on the team.
