My only tip would be if you are going to play Craps, you must only play in the Imperial Palace.
And if you go broke and lose a lot of money in your poker games......................head to the nickel slots and collect your free drinks.

Just messing with you dude, good luck! I've played some poker at some tables and won all of them. But when I tried online, everytime i lose. I always have two pairs, a set or a straight and seem to lose every good hand. I feel like they're cheating, but who knows. I've been wanting to try vegas myself.
I know some dudes that own the holdem game on the net and for some reason in Reno and Baton Rouge they lost their asses every day we were there.

If you only have 1 lifetime tournament victory in which myself, Kori, or LJ have played in, then you might want to rethink this whole live thing at a Las Vegas Casino. I have no clue what happens in your internet games, but seeing Tpark take you down majorly shortstacked makes me think you're not ready for the big boys.
I don't know what I was thinking. Thanks for all the advice, I've decided I suck at poker and I'm not planning on going to Vegas after all. Tomorrow, I'm going to start searching for a real job.

Yeah, I realize now that the whole game changes when I sit at an actual table. I think the times I've won down at Eagle Pass or local cash games I must have gotten really lucky. After all, Poker is nothing but luck! And com'on, TPARK beat me!

I am trying to get under your skin poker professional. Poker is a lot of luck, but I think there is skill in being able to read people. I watched the movie Rounders so I feel like I'm ready to take my game to the next level.

Na the hotels in vegas are clean.. well as clean as any other... Since you will be gambling you will be happier in a nice casino hotel...
There's not any bad hotel rooms on the strip. So if you don't care about room/hotel amenities, then just pick the cheapest room for the dates you are going.

I've only been once, so I don't have any insider tips or anything, but there is NOTHING funnier than walking down the strip and seeing those kids handing out hooker flyers to old farts.
Oh wait, I do have one tip: if you see a buffet full of Japanese tourists, there's a pretty good chance there will be plenty of fried shrimp available. We did the buffet at Bally's at the same time as a Japanese tourist group and they avoided the shrimp like the plague. I chowed down!
But here's how dated my info is: the seafood buffet at The Sands sucks ass.

Tip: If you want to go anywhere outside your hotel, even downtown to Fremont Street (light show is a must see at night), there is a bus that you can get a day-pass for $5. You can ride as many times as you want, go anywhere the bus goes. Even if you want to go from one end of the strip to the other (or anywhere in between), that bus is a great deal and time saver. There are so many streets you cannot cross on the street level and it takes a lot of time and energy to climb all those sets of steps to cross over (and some of them are not really right on the corner).
Also, there is a monorail that goes from Mandalay Bay to the Sahara. It was still under construction the last time I was there, but it is open now. I have heard that you can get a pass for it, too, for $20/day, and it's super fast. I don't know where it stops in between those two places, though, and it does not go downtown.
Couple of places I recommend seeing: The NASCAR Cafe (it is a super cool place, even if you are not into racing), the Harley Davidson Cafe, the Coca Cola museum and M&M world. The Imperial Palace has an permanent antique car show (I think it's on the 5th floor) that is something to see, and I think it's pretty cheap.
I have only been to Vegas twice; once I stayed at the New Frontier (it's very old, but a very cool place, especially if you're a beginner) and once at the Imperial Palace. The location of the Imperial Palace is ideal, plenty of strip in either direction.
I also recommend the Wayne Newton show. He is excellent in a live show, and the S ust is his home theater. It's a great variety show with excellent music.

Manny, if you are looking for somewhere decent bordering on nice, but still cost efficient, check out the Sahara. You can usually get in for $39-59/night. I've never seen one of the rooms, but the casino is decent given it's location (North Strip - the old part).
Also... I've got Karo's Book of Poker Tells if you want to barrow it. You're game is good enough where you don't need it, but it couldn't hurt - especially if you are going to be playing 18 hours a day of live poker.
