No, I think he meant the Senior Ball Boy position.
Yeah, but he turnover prone. So i was hoping for another one to compete with.
So do you go with the better shooter, turnover prone.
Or do you go with the better ball handler, but the defense will completely leave open.
Sucks.
No, I think he meant the Senior Ball Boy position.
btw if they sign Vaughn, Elson and Butler they have to dump a contract. So unless they do a 2 for 1 S&T they have to lose Williams and any ending contract trade.
How do you figure? Am I missing someone?
PG: Parker, Vaughn, Beno
SG: Ginobili, Finley, Barry
SF: Bowen, Williams
PF: Duncan, Bonner, Horry
C: Elson, Butler, Oberto
ludden wrote it in a hurry
he will update it later
LMAO...I love this place...
**suicide watch activated**
Nothing wrong with that on a one year deal.
Where was the fire? Why not finish the sentence?
... for the back up point guard position.
Typed in less than 3o seconds.![]()
I doubt they could have done much better than Vaughn for the backup.
I don't like that they're apparently splitting the MLE to offer both Elson and Butler.
I really want Jackie Butler, and I think Zeke will easily match say a 2.5 million offer. :/
Vaughn for the min is a very good signing.
I'm fine with Udrih + Vaughn as backup PG.
if one matches they plan on talking to jav
so they still would have to do a trade
maybe spurs have a deal in place but have to wait to package william in it
hopefully they throw more at buttler then elson
Hopefully they accidentally forget to send Elson the signing package.
Vaughn as the 3rd PG is not a surprise. His name has been discussed in the past. All the Spurs were going to spend for a PG was the minimum and they needed a third guy. He is merely NVE's replacement. The Spurs were NEVER going to spend their money on a PG. NEVER.
Supposedly they've got him on a pretty short leash this year, so hopefully the Spurs have some decent inside info they're working from.
Elson with Vaughn and Butler isn't great, but it's palatable. Without Butler, it's wretched.
Yeah. I'm half-certain we'll wind up with Elson and no Butler. Then I'll throw up all over again.Elson with Vaughn and Butler isn't great, but it's palatable. Without Butler, it's wretched.
I'm down with the Vaughn signing. I think it's a reaction to the fact that in the Dallas series, the Spurs were really in a bad spot defensively when Van Exel was on the floor (as was true for most of the season). If Vaughn stays within himself and just plays defense and runs the offense, he can be a productive piece and if he signed for the vet minimum, he's hardly an expensive risk. It also provides veteran insurance if either: (1) Parker suffers an injury; or (2) the Spurs find a suitor for Beno.
The restricted offer to Elson baffles me.
Is this the same guy that shot 0-23 to start a season.
Not a bad signing though. He's a veteran point guard that HANDLES the ball well, is agressive, good passer, and can a hit a shot if left open. It looks like he will back up Tony.
Here is how Beno and Vaughn break down
Handles - Vaughn
Shooting - Beno
Passing - Vaughn
Experience - Vaughn
Clutchiness - Vaughn
Defense - Vaughn
Quickness - SAME
Final Score 5-1 Vaughn.
At 30, I just hope he will come to SA rejuvenated and ready to play. He needs to put in some work with CHIPPY immediately.
lmao @ some of y'all, y'all acting like Vaughn is being brought in to be our savior. calm down he's only here to be the third pg, nothing more. quit acting like it's the end of the spurs as a championship contender.
damn i hope the nuggets match the offer, i hope the knicks don't match
Your glass is half full, right? Getting Elson with no Butler would be an utter disaster.
3rd PG?
I think some of us are afraid he'll be 2nd PG for no reason better than the madness in Pop's head.
Jacque Vaughn. That sucks. I hope Beno steps up his game.
Vaughn is a good signing. He is a very good defender and although he can't shoot worth a , unlike NVE, he knows it. Nick was a turnstyle out there for Martin, Terry, Harris, et al.
Vaughn's career numbers are are hardly worth noting...
608 games:
4.8 ppg
2.6 apg
1.4 rpg
His assist/to ratio is good.
A good, safe signing.
Good signing. Won't wet his pants bringing the ball up the court.
