The Spurs moved quickly when the NBA’s free-agent signing period began Wednesday, signing point guard Jacque Vaughn and extending offer sheets to centers Francisco Elson and Jackie Butler.

Elson and Butler are restricted free agents, so Denver and New York have seven days to match the offers. The Knicks have already indicated they want to keep Butler.
The Spurs extended offers to both Elson and Butler in part because they were unable to reach agreement with former second-round pick Robertas Javtokas. Javtokas is preparing to play in Greece, but the Spurs haven’t given up hope they will be able to resume negotiations with him, if needed.

Vaughn?? Ugh it just goes from bad to worse...
JV is a good pick up..Not spectacular but can run the offense, play average D, and occasionally pick up easy baskets....Good pick up for the minimum!!

Giving Dallas the series by playing small ball was weird but clearly Pop has suffered brain damage now. Jacque Vaughn is probably the worst player in the NBA- next to Beno Udrih of course. I pray to God Tony Parker can play 40 minutes a night this year because you'd might as well have T Park backing him up with the two wastes of carbon we have here.

Jacque Vaughn is a decent pickup for a backup point. Especially if it ends up being our 3rd point.

I am confused, in this thread it says we still think we can resume negotiations with Robertas, the other thread said he signed elsewhere, which is it?
He's 31 I think. Not bad I guess. He won't get a ton of minutes behind Tony. Solid pickup.

Vaughn isn't an All Star, but should be able to run the offense for those few minutes Parker is out in foul trouble.
I believe a player has a certain amonunt of time to back out or sign.

This did come out of nowhere. Decent backup for vet minimum. I'll take it.
