Can we combine the first three quarters last night with the fourth from tonight for at least one win?

If they would just play with consistent intensity they could stomp anyone. We better ing win on Friday.

Ya know, this is the second third maybe fourt or fifth time, this team has come from way behind to win, or force overtime.

Theres one thing you can say about this team, it has a never say die at ude.

They had that in 02 03. Not really in 04 05.

02 03 if you remember they came from behind on big leads against New Jersey and Dallas to win clutch games.

    BIG leads.

    Duncan looked like Duncan.

Ginobili finally pulled his head out of his butt.

Bonner is still bringing that Malik like intensity but is knocking down threes.

This team is starting to shape up better, even though its in a bit of a funk.

    BTW,

Brent Barry, what in tarnation is wrong with you again.

uhhh a never die a tiude?

his team is dying left, right, and center

in 04-05 we had that fantastic come from behind win over phoenix in OT that was one of the best regular season Spurs games of the decade

Every championship season, we have a few games that we come away from knowing we either shouldn't have won, but somehow dug down deep inside and pulled out the W

A win that brings everyone closer together and the team and is momentum changer for the season

We never ever had that type of game last year (though that one miami win when manu went down was nice)

And it's way too early to complain about not having that special game this year, but giving up 38 points in the 4th quarter is more of a "lay down and die" at ude as oppose to a "never say die" at ude

We have our work cut out for us this season

The mavs game this friday is the perfect opportunity for a big turnaround and to reel off a nice win streak like our rivals have

how have I been discounted or proved wrong in regards to this argument?

granted, my ing may grow tiresome as it does after each loss, but this team this season has anything but a "never say die" at ude

yes, the 02-03 team gave up a lot of big leads, but they still played superbly in the long run

This team hasn't shown us anything that they are ready to even be worthy of a decent playoff contender let alone a champion for THIS season

It's only January, but their play is rather disheartening

As nice as the rally was, at the end of the day, it's a sub .500 team, and when duncan and manu get over 24 points each and you committ only 4 turnovers and STILL find a way to give away the game, well then, your team has problems

no no, the houston win was nice, but it did nothing for us in the long run

    look where we are

the phoenix win was huge b/c it gave us the psychological edge over the team before the playoffs even began

the houston win was just a bright spot amidst an unsettling slump

the minny game was a 2nd half surge against a sub .500 ball club

if it was against dallas or phoenix it'd be special

otherwise, it's a win we should've gotten on our HOME floor regardless

    I rest my case

So the team has problems, when a guy like Mark Blount can't miss a shot, and you lose by 2 in OT?

The team doesn't have big problems numbskull.

Whena guy like Mark Blount, CANNOT MISS.

I mean plays out of his MIND. CANT MISS.

And you lose by only two, when Garnett has 27 and 17?

    Yes, thats a good thing.

Sorry that it doesnt suit your bull woe is me were horrible stupid ass at ude.

    garnett getting 27-17 shouldn't be a surprise

granted, blunt was unexpected, but when you set an NBA season record for fewest turnovers with 4, you shouldn't lose by 1,2 or 20 o a sub 500 team

manu had 26 and td had 24 and TP had 19

so the big 3 showed up

that should be more than enough to negate blount's torrid shooting

yet we walk away with b2b losses and looking completely lost for friday's big game against the Mavs

Did anyone else notice how pale white Ginobili is and how sunken in, black his eyes are?

If he's not sick, he's a vampire who saw the light of day.

I'm proud of my team tonight. They fought back from 17 down in the second half and showed more heart than they've shown all year. We got beat by the zebras, not the opposition.

This is the building block we needed to get things going.

Props to the squad, most notably Manu and Tim.

    Walton

If we started the game well, we shouldn't have had to fight back ; remember last time we played Dallas (or the famous game 7 too), we started super slowly, fought back but lost?
I don't think this is a step to the right direction

we're making too many excuses for our guys (not that this is one, just brought the concept to my mind). Jordan dominated while playing with the flu. Nowitzki routinely plays on rubber ankles. Shaq dominated with his plantar fascitis. Some guy in the NFL played with a broken leg for X sake.

I just can't get too low or too high from any one regular season game. All I ask from the basketball gods is a healthy team going into the playoffs and a decent seed.

Sure, AFTER they dig their holes first.

he did look pale out there and mighty pissed off late in the game.

just some q's: how come manu seldom touched the ball in OT? why didn't they foul when they were just two down?

i was disappointed with the Spurs tonight. there were some questionable calls both ways down the stretch but wth do you expect from the zebras? they never should've let themselves be placed in that position. props to tony for keeping us afloat in the 3rd when they were threatening to pull away, to tim for digging us out of the hole, to manu for the intangibles during the 4th.

"Did anyone else notice how pale white Ginobili is"

At one point, I noticed just the opposite, that his shoulders and back were flushed, over-heated, like he has just come out of a sauna. or long, very hot shower, or ran a 1500 m race in 90F temp. Was Target Center over-heated at court level?

The two observations together, no coloring / too much color, suggest he's really not in good shape, is still very weakened from his sickness.
