Question is - will Az State ever win a conference game this year? Funny thing is - everyone makes the Pac-10 tournament so they'd only have to win 3 straight... haha

Teams doing that are the enemy of teams like USC and KState - the ones fighting to get in. Say Butler's conf sucks, but Butler is in for sure because they have been in Top 20 all year. Then Butler goes and ests and takes it easy for the Conf tourney, knowing they are already a lock for the Dance, and some crap team knocks them off to get in.

Actually the 9/10 schools have to win four, as 9/10 play each other first. Maybe it'll be OSU's third "conference" win, all against ASU?

Incorrect. If that were true, then you would still have 9 teams left. 7 plays 10 and 8 plays 9 to narrow the field to 8.

I can't believe how bad Arizona has been of late. It's not like their early schedule was filled with cupcakes. They beat several ranked teams en route to a #5 ranking and racked up a top-3 strength of schedule and I believe the top overall non-conference strenth of schedule.

They have plenty of ranked teams left to play, which is either a blessing or a curse, depending on how you view the Wildcats prospects. If they can get things turned around and beat either Oregon (road) or sweep their SoCal series (Home) then they will make the tournament. If they lose all three or only beat USC, then they'll need to make the Pac-10 Tournament le Game to make the NCAA tournament.

Ducks got worked by UCLA last night. It was a must-win game for the Bruins though.

It's against a piss-poor Washington team, but a 30-point win was very nice to see today from the 'cats! Hopefully they can follow it up with another blowout come Thursday and then compete at Oregon on Saturday. They need to beat Oregon or UCLA to prove their metal to the selection committee. UCLA will be at home, but Oregon is more their tempo, so it's my pick for the upset. If they win both, they can still get a top-5 seed, but that's probably homerism on my part to even think it. They need two of the three twixt @ Oregon, vs. UCLA and vs. USC.

Arizona has now won three in a row thanks to a come-from-behind win last night at Oregon! That's easily their best win all year and they have several very good wins. They need to win the games they are supposed to (at Cal, at ASU0, beat two of the following three vs. USC, vs. UCLA and at Stanford and then win at least one or two games in the Pac-10 tourney. If they do and are competative in their losses, then they stand a chance at a top-5 seed. I'd love for them to sweep the LA schools at home this week. It's unlikely, but it's certainly possible. Hopefully this win has raised their confidense. They barely lost to USC and UCLA on the road. Hopefully they remember that and win.
