After lookin tho, SF gots about 30 mill in cap space.
Exactly.....22 of the 80 mill is guaranteed...he will never see the full 80....I also saw somewhere that he will start out at 5mill for the 1st year and it will incrementally go up year to year.
I know that, but you have to admit that 10 mill ayear is a little steep, but I guess you got to do what you got to do
Rumor also has it that Joey Porter's top 2 choices of teams to sign with are SD and SF and that both these teams are pursuing him very heavily.
i dont really like porter... if we can get him at a decent price im all for it..... but i hope we aint throwing nate clements money at him
Cowboys have already contacted him for a meeting on Tues. or Wed.
Jesus, It must suck to have cap room and this be the best Receiver on the market. Lelie sucks. Another one of the broncos terrible first round picks. Damnit.
Bly is a good corner, but nowhere close to a top 5 corner. He's at his best on the short to intermediate routes, but he's lost his deep speed.
Ashley Lelie was decent at first then his at ude came out and he went to .
Lelie had one "decent" season in Denver. He has great deep speed, but Alex Smith doesn't have a very strong arm. I don't think he's a good fit in SF.
Yeah, Bly was maybe a top 5 CB 3-4 years ago. He's gonna get challenged like he has never before with Champ shutting out the other side. Gonna be interesting to see how he holds up to that. But he's a big play guy, and I can see him coming up with 6-8 picks with all the action he is going to be seeing. But he'll also be burned more than a few times this season.
He defintely won't fill Antonio Bryant's spotEven though Bryan't at ude is worse than Lelie's.
49ers will have to draft a young good WR in the draft this year. Whether it be in the 2nd/3rd.
Oh, and Champ, Mccalister, Hall, Samuel, and Newman are all better than Clements. And not one of them is worth the money Clements is gonna get.
Wrong on that man, have you seen him play? He can run with just about anyone. And I dont understand why the 9ers didnt try and get Stallworth, he is much better than Lelie
Uhh, I've watched every game of his for the last four years...
I'm sure he's seen a few Bly games (him being a Lion fan and all).
I'm not bashing Clements as a corner. He's good, but he's not worth the money. The Niners are going to be a nice team next year. Definately gonna make a playoff run.
Yea I agree that he isnt worth the money, but he is damn good. And I thought Disgruntled was talking about Clements, not Bly, my fault. At least the Lions got DeWayne White though huh?
White was a decent signing, depending on how his contract is structured.
5 years at $29 million doesn't sound that good for a career backup, but most of these initial numbers are inflated.
