So you believe a society where these thoughts are more prevelant is not more likely to be far more violent than one where those thoughts are far less common?

And if you understood what my point was, then why did you post a complete red herring?
'Cause I just like to with you

And once again, no: The thoughts make no difference. It's the society like ours that is less likely to punish the violent actions themselves that makes the difference.

Well, I'm sure, no cross that, there are way more men serving hard time sentences for murder, drug, grand theft etc. and I'm pretty sure that a majority of people anywhere have a hard time believing that women launder drugs or money and do hire killings in jail, in fact, I've never heard of a case ever in my 18 years of life of a serious drug related or serial killer that is a woman or have heard of jail crimes done by women.

Statistically, females usually account for about 15% of all violent crime and 28% of all property crime. However, there has been about a 140% increase in the number of crimes committed by women since 1970, and the upward trend is steady.

Don't kid yourself. You ain't seen in your 18 years, apparently. True, women make up only 8% of all US serial killers, but American women make up 90% of female killers the world over. Think about that. You seem to have a very virginal outlook on how women behave themselves, which is cute but not very realistic. Not knocking on you or anything, just opening your eyes a bit.

Just because people have a violent imagination doesn't mean they will act on them. I have some of the most violent thoughts of anyone I know but I would never act on them. I think it's just imagination. There is a difference between imagination and being a crazy like that that killed her kids.

    OK, internet tough guy

What does you having to posture like you could take me in a fight have anything to do with the fact that in your 18 very educated and long years of life, you had never heard of a female serial killer when in fact many exist?

Did you see those on the news or the newspaper? Or did you find them online? I've never seen cases in the news, the worst I've seen is a women kidnapping a child or throwing her own child in a garbage can. Rarely do I see a news report or a paper clipping of 'Women kills'. Or did you find them online? I don't normally google: 'Criminals who are women or 'Women serial killers'

Oh yeah and a point you'll never get through is that or try to argue is:

Female crimes and jails >>>> Male crime and jails

And if you argue that I won't read it, because my brain doesn't allow me to read an arguement that can never ever be won.

Plus it was a joke, nobody can take internet sarcasm. Holy fu**** fu**

these people who did this to these children are bad. very bad... for argument's sake if they did what they say they did, then I think a flaming hot pole should be shoved between their rib cage while they are awake.

    How does that sound?

Thoughts are the precursur to actions. You think about something before you do it in all cases other than instant relexive actions, and thats not to say that thoughts can't help shape and develop peoples reflexive reactions. You're statements make no sense.

How on earth would a society with so many violent thoughts not be more inclined to be more violent? I'd love to see you find one sociologist agree with that statment.

Manny, you just love to play ing Devil's advocate don't you. On every single topic, from Tylenol against Asprin to this.

People can think whatever they want, there's no thought police to come and bust you, and if it makes you feel better for criticizing on other ways of imaginative thinking, then go do it, because it's a free country.
Oh I'm so happy you said that. I think its people like you who want to make themselves feel better when they make posts like you did. Its a way of showing how different you are from the person who committed the crime. Its an expression of how far above them you are and how you plan on showing it.

So who is it that is trying to make themselves feel better?

How are people induced to think this way? You have to look at what the certain society has to offer -- basically the media. America has violent media, so does Europe and Japan etc, but I'm pretty sure they have different cide rates and I think USA ranks number 1 in that catogery I'm not 100% sure. People can't express there rage in public, otherwise they'd look stupid and they can't say whatever thing comes into there mind, so the best place is on the internet, and a place like this one where you can say almost anything.
Gee - thanks for making my point with your first statment. I couldn't have pointed it out any better myself. I never said your statement was a cause - I said it was a symptom.

    I'm just gonna say: WTF

That didn't make any sense at all, so I'm gonna ask you to elaborate.

Who's trying to feel better or who is trying to make fun of a crazy , is more like it.

Manny, you're not a psychologist. When you read something posted on a internet forum like this:

Make her pee a cactus/Have a buffalo do a diareah dump in her ear.

You can't say people are sadistic and are mentally ill, prescribing symptoms as if you have a PhD; you have too look at the variables when such statements are said, such as seriousness, age, what the person is feeling, political alignment, sexual orientation, race, gender, IQ, habits etc and you cannot know that through your computer, you're not Dr.Strange. Your statements do not make you look smart, in fact they make you look stupid and arrogant, as if you know everything there is to know about the universe and you got it all from Wikipedia.

Uh, when exactly did I diagnose you?

Why do you keep reading so much into plain and simple sentences? I love how you've turned this all about ME now. You completely ignored how you completely agreed with my original post with your comment in your last post and instead proceeded to ramble on how I don't know everything when I never said anything of the sort.

Since I don't know everything (and never claimed to) nor do I have a doctorate, do you want me to find you sources to where overexposure to violence leads to violent tendencies?

In your first post of this thread you said indirectly that I had the same mentality as a person who would kill there baby if he/she were crying

You completely ignored how you completely agreed with my original post with your comment in your last post and instead proceeded to ramble on how I don't know everything when I never said anything of the sort.
When did I agree with you?
    You asked Desflood this question:
So you believe a society where these thoughts are more prevelant is not more likely to be far more violent than one where those thoughts are far less common?
And I answered it. No wait,I didn't answer that, I just stole what I saw from Bowling for Columbine and half the time I don't even agree with the director.

^ That quote is worded so ing horrendous I have to read it ten times.
do you want me to find you sources to where overexposure to violence leads to violent tendencies?
No, because aside from violent expsosure other factors play into what the person does and the violence can't be miniscule.

You have reading comprehension difficulties. I never said anything of the sort and I've stated as much several times in this thread.

And WTF is this? Aren't you basically calling me a sadistic torturer/psychopath and what symptom?
Once again: reading comprehension. I'm speaking very plainly in my posts; I don't know how to further break it down for you.

^ That quote is worded so ing horrendous I have to read it ten times.
Its worded fine. But if you're going to criticize my wording, perhaps you might want to use the right words? Hint: HorrendousLY.

No, because aside from violent expsosure other factors play into what the person does and the violence can't be miniscule.
Bad wording? Anyhow, first you say I don't know it all and I shouldn't act like I have a PHD and then you refuse to listen to the opinions of those with PHDs. I get it, basically everything that might contradict you is incorrect?

    A. You acutally said I had the mind of a criminal and was no better then the girl based on my thoughts.

    B. When I said I loved it, I was being sarcastic
Who put words in your mouth? It was a question based on your own statements.
The statement was I never hear about killings done by female with criminal intent, so it must not happen to often or it must go unnoticed. Never in that sentence is there an implication of it never existing. Also, I can't take this article into consideration, because I hear all the time of pre-teen skanks who trash or kill there unwanted baby, you may think it's a contradiction, but it's not and I don't want to explain why.

It's 12AM and I have school and I can't afford to be on the internet 24/7 everyday and ever single hour of my existence. Apparently people stay up until 3AM on the internet.
