    Childs...injuries....seriously, you don't get. When our teams was reasonably healthy we were a top 5 team and Kobe was in MVP mode. He scored, rebounded set up teammates etc.....Remember, this this team has only played like 5 or 6 games all season with this starting line up;
    Smush
    Kobe
    Walton
    Odom
    Brown....

Anyone that talks about Kobe is just being a hater. Even if you dont like him as a person, the guy is amazing on the court. Even when the Lakers were really good beating the Spurs in the playoffs and I hated the guy, I had to sit back sometimes and just think to myself how unbelievable he was

Childs, you are being absolutely ridiculous.

I'm not a Kobe fan but I can see clearly enough through my hater-goggles to realize that he's an amazing player and IS helping his team win. Props to Kobe on the big games and the wins.

    ATTENTION ATTENTION

for the first time maybe ever, i actually agree with Childs.

they were up by seven with 10 seconds left. no need to dunk it, unless you care about getting 50.

I don't think anyone is arguing that Kobe didn't care about getting 50. People are discussing whether it was really all that disrespectful and selfish.

With nearly ten seconds left in the game, the Raptors were down 85-82 with possession of the ball. Chris Childs raced down the court and jacked up a wild three-pointer that missed badly, apparently trying to draw a foul on the play, instead of passing to a wide-open Dell Curry (Toronto's best 3-point gunner). In a post-game locker room interview, Childs repeatedly insisted that the Raptors had been down 4 points, not 3.

Why wouldnt you care about getting 50 one basket away with a fastbreak? I mean seriously, you trying to tell me he should have just pulled the ball out and ran the time out? The game was OVER, who cares what he does at that point

Of course he wanted 50. Haven't you ever seen a player try to get the last points or the last assist/rebound whatever to hit a number mark. You act like it's showboating. Everybody in the league that has 48 would have dunked the ball. They got the W let him get his 50. He's already proven he cares more about winning then anything else. He has won and he's even allowed Phil to coach him again after he wrote a book about him. You act like if it's some type of selfish act. Nothing but Kobe hate, but honestly as a Laker fan I thank you for the hate. Because your hate is what drives Kobe to be so good. He's the most effective when he has a chip on his shoulder. So thanx for the hate because I'm sure it will drive him to play another 10+ years at an elite level.

Bunch of ing haters, I would have thought he would have been an idiot if he had pulled that ball out, you dont have many chances in your career to score 50, make it happen. Most of the haters are the same people that say David didnt want the scoring le when he scored 71, bunch of bull

I don't think there's one player in the league that would have pulled the ball out in that situation. The funny thing is they probably would have fouled him anyways to stop the clock and he would have gotten his 50 anyways. But then they would have complained he shot too many FT's.

these big scoring nights for Kobe is nothing new. I'm shocked it even causes a stir on these boards anymore. We all know Kobe scores in bunches. Probably the best at putting the ball in the hoop since a young Michael Jordan.

But what's it mean? We're still talking about a player who collapsed last year against my Suns after he decided he was in effect finished for the night after half time.

If Kobe can lead his team to a conference finals, I'd be a lot more impressed than scoring 60+ against the likes of the Wolves and Blazers. Those are brutal teams.

When Kobe starts playing like D Wade did in the 06 playoffs, talk to me about it. But until then, who cares how many points Kobe puts in?

The game was out of hand with 10 seconds left and he takes the shot just so he can hit 50.

That play pretty much sums up what Kobe is all about. Disrespect and selfishness.
...i think your posts are normally hilarious. i don't know if i agree with the above statement, but you do have a point.

It was a fast break shot...not a heave from half-court, plus he was being tailed and would have been fouled. The game was still only a 7 point game....why risk missing a foul shot and have them get a chance to cut in the lead with a 3...

What are you talking about? It was 10 seconds left and the lakers were up by 5. The game was pretty much over. There was no way the wolves would of came back 5 down with 10 seconds left. And Kobe knew how many points he had that's why he did that selfish crap.
