A lot of announcers up Manu's name. First and last.
A few years ago before he was big, even in video games, they'd pronounce hist last name "Gin-O-beel-E" or "Gin-O-biel-E" like Jessica "Biel."
A lot of people also pronounce the "Man" in Manu like the English word man. Then there's a few that call him Mano.
Sorry to go all pedantic on you baseline, but most of the commentators are getting Nene's name right--it's pronounced Ne-NEH, with the accent on the last syllable and the little hat (circunflex) indicates you should put emphasis there--in Portuguese there's two different types of pronunciation of the letter "e"--that's why they have two different accent marks--the circunflex (more of an "eh" sound) and the grave accent (more of an "ay" sound)--for when they want to put emphasis on a syllable.
Now my knowledge of the mechanics of basketball? Can fit into a thimble. For a season or two I was too afraid to ask on this board what a pick-and-roll was, and I couldn't really get a clear idea of it from wikipedia. I had to have a friend who's really into basketball explain the concept and even he got frustrated with me.

Uh, it IS No Vit-zki. The W is pronounced like our V in the German alphabet.Nobody pronounce's Dirk's name right either...they say No-Vit-zki instead of No-WIT-ski...

I KNOW that...but Dirk says it with a W...if he says it that way in live spots, interviews, etc that's probably how everybody else should say it...
