I think it's a good rule, it helps keep brawls from breaking out with twenty-four players on the court and only three refs.

If the league suspends Amare and Diaw it would be a travesty. It would be completely unfair to the Suns regardless of how the rule is written. The league should take the stance that they were going to check back into the game. That way no suspension would be given and they still can save face.

Heh. I don't want Amare suspended for the 5th game.

I don't want to have to listen to whining -ass Suns fans about why they lost the series.

But he's gone. There is a no tolerance policy here. It's to prevent like the fight that happened with Indiana & Detroit. That scuffle came VERY close to being a fight because Amare & Diaw jumped off the bench.

What Horry did was awful. But it's not like he clotheslined the guy while he's in mid-air. That was a good hard check, and Horry should be gone for Game 5.

But so will Amare & Diaw. Should they be? Probably not. But the sad fact is that we can't have hotheads who instigate fights in the NBA. Fans got hurt the last time it really got out of hand. That's unacceptable, and so was the behavior of all three players tonight.

At least Suns fans aren't ing about bad calls this game...I wonder why.

I'm glad Horry took Nash out...I like Nash and all, but he loves to jump into defenders to get calls...there you go. I have no problem with the hit, and he will get suspended.

Amare and Diaw left the bench...if the league sticks to the rules, they will get suspended as well. Of course, some will make excuses (checking in, holding other players back, etc), but everyone knows what happened, and what should happen.

    Manny -

Fine, don't suspend either one. But suspend Raja, he had two elbows (one to Oberto, one to Horry in retaliation) that were just as bad as what Horry did.

    Fair?

How is it unfair to the Suns, they weren't cool enough to keep their heads and they should have to pay for it...

Neither will be suspended. Its a playoff series and neither got close to the play. Both players stopped themselves and one was going to check in.

Not to mention that would reward Horry's cheapshot.

But its fun to watch Spurs fans squirm. So much for HCA, eh?

I don't like the rule, but it is what it is.

You can say Amare was going to the scoring table but he didn't get up until Nash went down and he did step on the court (which you aren't supposed to do on your way to the scorers table.

I don't really want them suspended because I'd like all the best players on the court, but we'll see how the league handles it.

Amare was holding people back... LOOK AT THE REPLAY
I did, and you're on crack...Amare left the bench and went toward the fracas, as did Diaw...that's one game for each of them...no exceptions.

This is the same thing as Knicks/Heat back in 1997. Mourning body slammed Charlie Ward and Ewing and those guys left the bench they got suspended. Amare and Boris fair or unfair are gone for gone 5.

Both Amare and Diaw were running towards the players because they wanted to do something, they then got stopped by the coaches and that's when Amare realized what he ahd done and held his arms out to stop people.

You're just wishing for a cheap thing that isn't even deserved. Whatever dude. The only player that deserves a suspension from this game is Horry.
How is that? I see where you're coming from, and I would like to see it go full strength as well - but you have to follow the rules. This has been the most widely known NBA rule for over 10 years now - if you leave the bench and go on the court during an altercation, you get a 1 game suspension. That's it... you can't make allowances because it's the playoffs and because it's a certain player. That's been the rule for longer than either guy has been in the league, and they broke it. They must now pay the price. Their stupidity is costing them.

If TD, TP, Manu, or any other Spur left the bench during an altercation, they'd deserve a 1 gamer too. They do deserve it for being stupid, as does Horry for the shoulder shot into the table.

On another note - we may have to redefine "Big Shot Rob" if the league holds their integrity and does what they have to do to maintain any respect for the rules and integrity of the game. Did he do that on purpose hoping for Suns stupidity? Surely not, but it makes you wonder.

I really hope Amare can play. Maybe the league will say since he was checking in then he's good and they'll save the suspension for Diaw.

That way at least Diaw and Horry can cancel out each other.

This is truly an infortunate incident and it's going to suck if Amare is gone.
