Obviously it had nothing to do with the fact that Duncan left the bench when there was not a fight on the floor.

Heh, I seriously doubt it. I don't even remember the last time Pop played Duncan serious minutes, he treats him like he's so fragile. Parker isn't even capable of playing heavy and Oberto would be in foul trouble.

Pop has used a deep rotation all year, he isn't going to play the starters 90% of the game.
You seriously doubt he would, or that he did? Tonight, with the man advantage, Duncan still played 41, Bowen 40, Parker 39, and Manu 38, and old man Finley 37...

this series is a freakin joke......the league is obviously favoring san antonio because Duncan shoulda been suspended for leaving the bench in the 2nd quarter of game 4. it's like the jordan rules of the old bulls days, Stoudamire doesnt have as much seniority as Duncan so the commissioner decides i'll make an impact on the series by suspending Stoudamire. Thats absolute horse . I'm an NBA fan, i am the beerman at cubs/sox(well not anymore cause they are assholes) and used to be the beerman at Bears games. it's a freakin joke when the commissioner attempts to alter a series. Phoenix would have killed tonight with Stoudamire......the NBA playoffs is a freakin' joke. When you have 2 heavyweights in a fight, you let them fight full strength. I enjoy watching good basketball, but i dont enjoy watching basketball when it's not a team's best 5 against another team's best 5. How about you suspend Baron Davis for his cheapshot Robert Horry Like elbow in game 4 of that series. The NBA doesnt rule fairly and shouldnt suspend players in the most important series over bull made up rules. I just joined this stupid forum tonight to voice my frustration. The NBA is bull and the Spurs are obviously the team the NBA favors and thinks will get the highest rating in the finals. I want to burn my David Robinson rookie card after how b.s. i think this league is. Pathetic! Absolutely pathetic!!!!

Are you serious? Wait.....rephrase. are you HIGH?????? Ratings? Why don't you go back and check the ratings for Spurs finals. Nothing to brag about.

By the way, whether the rules are bull or not, they still exist. It's not up to players to break them simply because they don't know or don't care. It's up to the league office and the owners to address it at the appropriate time.

The reaon why we couldn't rest our players was because two of our best players were not allowed to play. It's clear that the Suns were tired at the end of the game, I'm not sure how you could dispute that.
You know, you keep making excuse after excuse for your losses to the Spurs. The Spurs simply outplayed you, just like you outplayed us in games 2 and 4. Why can't you take a cue from a true sport like Steve Nash and admit that? , we were tired, too.

Sure, two of your key players (and one of ours, don't forget) were not allowed to play -- because they were too stupid to stay on the bench. They knew the rules.

Your anger is displaced. The Spurs didn't suspend Stoudemire and Diaw; the league did. Until you get that through your heads and stop crying, you don't DESERVE a championship.

    Naive.

They have way too much faith in the average casual NBA Fan --->

Give it a couple years and no one outside of Phoenix will even remember Amare or Boris' suspension. It'll just be a vague recollection, "the Spurs...or maybe that was the Heat's year...no the Spurs won a championship that year."
I was thinking the same thing.

We still have a long way to go, game 6 without Horry will be very tough. If it was 2005 and we were scary at home like we used to be, I wouldn't be worried, but unfortunately we are vulnerable at home this year, and I think some of that is down to crowd "apathy", at least in comparison to past years and to other playoff teams' home crowds.

People need to get LOUD for game 6, and all dress in BLACK like has been suggested by people on the board. Time to fully reclaim our home turf.

When did I ever dispute that?

My whole point is that these suspensions severly handicapped Phoenix in this series.
Dude, it was clear what you were saying, apologies for the obtuseness of my fellow Spurs fans.

Every team has 12 suited up players. If your coach doesn't want to or have enough confidence to play them, then that's his problem. The Spurs played Bonner for a few minutes. I'm sure if the Spurs had another player unable to play, Pop would've gone deeper into his bench.
This is a good point - it goes to the STRATEGIC level of the NBA. It's not as important is in football or baseball, but depth DOES MATTER in the NBA, and this unfortunate situation (for all) is a good example why.

Phoenix played hard and with a lot of emotion. Sometimes for one game with a star player(s) out, teams actually step up and play even better than usual. I think this was the case tonight. Spurs actually played like a team who kind of felt sorry that the suspension happened and it almost cost them the game until they woke up in the final quarter and remembered that they are champions.

Amen brother! That's what I've been saying and these Spurs jokers come back with "Suns fans are whiners". I swear the NBA = Nazi Basketball Association. Look, they even gave the MVP to a German this year. How fitting!
You're a goddamn idiot. You just said, "Amen brother!" to a quote that included

I mean, comments like that are so remarkably ignorant they're hard to respond to. It's like having a conversation with a mentally handicapped person.

Look, you can't make it any simpler than this: The Spurs have been part of the lowest rated Finals in history. David Stern pulls his hair out when looking at the income from the Finals the Spurs play in.

My God, you guys are truly delusional. Stop Whining, the league isn't persecuting you!

the jordan rules were actually the hard hits that the pistons would lay on jordan when he drove to the rim to make him pay for scoring. glad you knew that.

Yeah, you won't need an asterisk if this series goes 7. There is no chance the Spurs win in Phoenix in a game seven.
I assume you mean like they didn't win game 1 and game 5 IN PHOENIX?

Yep.....just no way in the Spurs can win in Phoenix......Might as well concede if we have to go back there for a game 7.

LOL....Stern would prefer to see the Suns vs Suns in the Finals. That way there could be 500 shots put up and it would be oh, so exciting to watch.

Very true.....I guess I imagined that whole "Game 1" thing when everybody was on the court for both teams and the Spurs won.

    My bad.

Asterisks are only placed by those who didn't win.

Suspension is going to hurt the most when Amare and Diaw return. The Suns simply expended too much energy, physical and emotional, trying to make up for their absence, and it will not be unreasonable to assume the same effort will be absent for game 6.

In my opinion, the Suns practically lost the series in a make-or-break decision to play a short rotation hard, in favor of a longer (but less-talented) rotation which would have conserved energy for Friday. All or nothing, and it almost worked out to their favor, until Bowen decided to sit in a corner.

The asterisk, if there is one (and I think it is a horrible idea anyway), should be placed next to Coach* D'Antoni. They could have won the series, if a decision to play six guys didn't bite them in the asterisk.

You're high. The Suns were way too tired to close it out because two of our top six players were missing. That would also be the reason why we were much worse on offense.
No need to be a sore loser fan. This person was referring to THIS specific Phoenix lineup, obviously. No need to point out what I'm hoping most everybody interested knows, which is that Stoudemire and Diaw did not suit up. You know, there still was a game last night.

So spare us your lame drug use comments.

Im just curious. Have the Phoenix Suns ever legitimately lost a basketball game? Ever?

I mean...if it wasn't for all the injustice in the world, you guys would have a perfect record.

I find that amazing. What a great basketball team. the man for trying to hold you guys back.

And if say Ginobli and Bowen were suspended, it would probably seriously effect the way that San Antonio played. Phoenix does not have a deep bench.

And honestly, are you guys really saying that these suspensions didn't seriously effect Phoenix's chances of winning this game?
Not at all. The Spurs dodged a bullet. They nearly had an historical loss of epic proportions. Scoreboard is all that matters, and as a Spurs fan, I'll take it. Game 6 will be a blast to watch.
