The suspension of Amare and Diaw didn't hurt the Suns all that much tonight. They were kicking our asses all over the place in the first half. Starting the 3rd, Tim was owning but Phoenix went uber small and realized doubling Duncan and forcing him to give it up to shooters who weren't hitting anything was a smart choice. Luckily for the Spurs, Manu got it going and so did Bruce because Tony played pretty bad.
The Spurs gave the Suns many chances to win it and keep the lead up. Specifically Manu's two passes to the first row. Duncan didn't do much in the 2nd half after the first 3 minutes of the third.
Honestly, we'd be lost without Manu this game. The Suns played with a lot of heart and that is commendable, but to say there will be an asterisk on this series is bull . Horry is a big piece to our small ball and the smartest player we have so it hurt the Spurs also.
The Suns tried hard, but in the end, DEFENSE prevailed.

How cute. When they can photoshop away 3 trophies let me know.

Yeah, you won't need an asterisk if this series goes 7. There is no chance the Spurs win in Phoenix in a game seven.
we said that before on dallas.
Naive.
They have way too much faith in the average casual NBA Fan --->
Give it a couple years and no one outside of Phoenix will even remember Amare or Boris' suspension. It'll just be a vague recollection, "the Spurs...or maybe that was the Heat's year...no the Spurs won a championship that year."
You're high. The Suns were way too tired to close it out because two of our top six players were missing. That would also be the reason why we were much worse on offense.
I am a Suns fan - no asterisk in my mind. Tough for the Suns, sure, but no asterisks are needed.
The Suns being tired is called "bad player management" by the Suns coach. Pop rested Duncan even when the Spurs were down 11. If the Suns would've won then everybody would've said Suns played "inspired ball", but since they lost now it's b/c they were tired.![]()

The reaon why we couldn't rest our players was because two of our best players were not allowed to play. It's clear that the Suns were tired at the end of the game, I'm not sure how you could dispute that.
If the Suns would have won, they still would have been tired. I missed your point, I guess.
The Suns fans had a litany of excuses when they lost short handed. Is anyone surprised that most of them can't ever lose with any kind of class? I count two so far that have managed to be extraordinarily gracious and the rest hover somewhere near troll level.
Um, the Spurs don't have any asterisks anywhere...................
I believe there are what 12 or 13 players on the roster...
The Suns didn't need to be tired if they bothered to play any of their bench. Yeah, they are scrubs, but if they played more than 2 times in the regular Suns season at least they would know the system and be able to go into a playoff game so Nash and Co. don't have to all log 45 minutes.
....? I'm pretty sure that I hadn't bad mouthed the Spurs in any way for this game, or that they didn't earn the victory. I was just trying to point out that Diaw and Stoudemire missing the game had an enormous effect on the Sun's play. You'd have to be blind not to see that.
And four of them suck ass. What's your point?
Why weren't they allowed to play? Random aggression by Stern?
So it's the Spursreport of the Suns? Got it.
We will never know if the Spurs could have won a game 7 in Phoenix cause it will end in 6. There is no way the Spurs collapse again like in Game 4 at home! There is no way the Suns win game 6 in San Antonio !
Astericks should be on Game 4 officiating.
Diaw and Stoudemire broke the clearest rule in the book. You'd have to be blind not to see that.
Nope. They were suspended for breaking a ty rule. I wasn't disputing that, I was just saying that the Suns were seriously impeeded by these Suspensions deserved or not.
Asterisk on Game 6 and the Suns if they win! The Spurs won't be at full strength!
When did I ever dispute that?
My whole point is that these suspensions severly handicapped Phoenix in this series.
