Our drought was 13 years, it was longer. And guess who ended your drought? Nellie. Guess who ended ours? Nellie. Guess why we always beat you and you'll never win a championship? Yep, Nellie.
You can have him. There's a ceiling to what he does.

The Dallas Mavericks never won a championship. The Warriors have 2. The Philly Warriors had the first ever NBA championship, and the Golden State Warriors won in 1975 in a series they were widely favored to be swept in. They actually ended up sweeping THEIR opponent, Washington.

Until you have Cuban as your owner, you're going to continue dwindling down.

BTW The Warriors beat Sac tonight thanks to 2 clutch 3's by Jack.

Jack's defense helped us keep Sacramento to being 2 for 23 for the field in the 4th quarter... in their own building.

No, they didn't. They won a le in the BAA with Joe Fulks. They actually were eliminated in the first year of the league being known as the NBA to the Syracuse Nationals. As for the le you won during Gerald Ford's term with Brent Barry's daddy, relevance?

Until you have Cuban as your owner, you're going to continue dwindling down.
This is true. He bought a dying franchise and has spent the money keeping it compe ive.

The BAA became the National Basketball Association in 1949.

So like I said, 2 les. Even if it's 1, it's still 1 more than Dallas.

And our team pulled off another big win tonight, we're 6-1 in our last 7 games and many of those we won thanks to last minute efforts... they call that, clutch.

Dallas is the opposite of that, I think it's called... choke, kind of how you have choked in the playoffs the last 2 years lol.

    Relevance of this non sequitur?

Nellie knows basketball and is a good coach for any team trying to put something together. He is a great teacher and builder. Any team trying to put together any kind of program or winning tradition would do well to hire a motivated Nellie. It also helps energize a starved fanbase. You have to walk before you can run, and Nellie's strength is teaching guys how to walk. The man knows how to build a foundation and he's proven it time and time again.

His sons good too. Gotta admit Dallas has been good at keeping up talent on their squad thanks to Donnie. But they should have never split up NASH and DIRK, that's part of the reason Nellie got pissed and left.

But they should have never split up NASH and DIRK, that's part of the reason Nellie got pissed and left.
Defensively, they wanted to get away from having both of them on the court at the same time. One was 5 years younger and a foot taller, so the decision was a pragmatic one. I just wish we had spent his salary slot on a better player than Erick Dampier. Although in Dampier's defense, he has greatly improved our interior defense. Nash is in a better system to showcase his skillset in Phoenix. He's pretty much the same player he was here. We sorely miss his ability to break down a defense in the halfcourt, his outside shooting and overall leadership. We don't miss his "defense" at all. There was just no way we were ever going to get past the Spurs with him guarding Tony Parker.

Nellie left for a lot of reasons, among them his heartbreak over his mancrush going to Arizona, and lingering bitterness over how Dirk's injury was handled during the 03 Conference Finals. He quit on this team but refused to hand in his resignation until 60 games later. There's Good Nellie and Bad Nellie, and sooner or later you'll see for yourself.

Congratulations on your le 32 years ago, which, judging from the way you talk, was about 20 years before you were even born.

Serious question for dubsball - Does Nellie attend any practices these days? Judging from his Dallas days, my guess is that he's usually on a golf course in Maui with a six pack, and just kind of shows up at the arena on gameday.

Don't be silly mono...Hawaii is a 3 hour flight from the Bay Area. During the season, you can find him at Vesuvio:

The Warriors have actually won 3 les since the inception of the BAA, not two. Doubt our newest contributor has personal memories of any of them.

Yeah I think it's safe to say we know Don Nelson, after-all, he did have a SMALL stint with the Warriors earlier, and has already said the Bay Area is his favorite place.

Wow, good to see so many Mavs fans in a Spurs community take such exception to a Warrior fan telling them the truth about who has les and who doesn't lol.

Hey look at the bright side, you have other historic things to be proud of, like, how you killed JFK.

History smack is pretty weak. If you didn't witness it, you don't get to brag about it. Warriors have a longer le drought than Dallas.

32 years is longer than 27 years. But since you're not a frontrunning , tell us all about your fond memories of Al Attles, Rick Barry, Jamaal Wilkes and Phil Smith. What was the atmosphere like inside the Cow Palace? That must have been insane!

I doubt he's even old enough to remember their one year of Chris Webber.

Or Joe Barry Carroll, Sleepy Floyd, World B Free, Robert Parish or Nate Thurmond. He probably thinks Run TMC is a pioneering hip-hop group.

I mean, seriously, dubsball, you should play the 8 seed card. It's pretty lame to go with the " le I wasn't alive for" card.

Nice of the Warriors fans to wait until AFTER they won a playoff series to begin repping their team.

    Ditto

I think it's safe to say I'm beyond my "warm-welcoming" period on here. Look forward to more debates with you guys.
