Though Mourning has done some things I didn't like, this is a real bad way to end a career. This is also not the time to express your hate towards him monosylab1k. You of course would do it since you are an![]()
Don't forget what an ultimate crybaby frontrunner this guy is. He signed with a Nets team that was coming off a Finals appearance, and when they got off to a slow start, he whined like a little and took his kidney and went home. Then when he was traded to the Raptors, he begged them to release his ass since he supposedly didn't want to play anymore.

I hate to see any player go down with an injury.
And if it's a season or a career ending injury it's even worse.
Don't get me wrong, Mourning's at ude and some decision's he's made over the years don't sit well with me.
But I think it's okay to put all that aside when a guy gets hurt. Badly hurt.
I love this game, I hate to any player get hurt and lose a season or have to retire before they're ready.
It doesn't matter what I think of the guy personally.
Have a heart. Even if you hate him as a player, it's cruel to be glad he got hurt.
As much as I respect Mourning's game and defense, I have to agree that the guy was a major jerk throughout his career. Aside from the muscle flexes that totally embarrassed Dream Team II in the 94 world championships, he screwed a promising Hornets team, forced his way out of Miami after Miami stuck with him through his liver issues, forced his way out of NJ after NJ took a major risk in signing him (and started to suck), then screwed Toronto by refusing to sign with them, forcing Toronto to pay a $10 mill buyout.
Total jerk.
Nobody here has expressed that sentiment. It's just that anytime a player retires or his career comes to an end, the media only focuses on the good. It should be noted as part of the historical record that the guy was a giant . He also came back from a kidney illness and was one of the best defensive centers of all time, but he was also a . Let's not whitewash that part.
You're right, no one here said they were glad out loud.
But pretty much the entire thread is bashing the guy.
It's gone the complete other way of what you're saying the media does.
Let's not whitewash anything.
He has his issues. But this is a horrible way to possibly end his career. A little sympathy is okay too.
BTW: Hi Findog! Haven't talked to you in a while!
F-ck the loser, crybaby Mavs fans. Mourning has been a great player and has overcome major obstacles in his career. He plays with fire and intensity (unlike a uva lot of players who are just out there to pick up a check). I love watching him play. Sure, I hated him when his Heat and my Knicks were in their rivalry days, but I would never call him a or try to discredit him, even back then.
The Mavs wish they had a back-up center like Zo. So do the Suns. So do most of the teams in the league.
If this is the end of his career, well, at least he went down as a warrior. I'll miss him. A lot. Players like Zo do not come along very often.
And again, F-CK the whiny Mav fans.
I am loving the irony of a Pats fan being mad at someone for being deceitful.
yeah because giving your word to an organization and then welching to go somewhere else is exactly like breaking a league rule and being punished for it.
I have to say, I agree with you (minus the F-the mavs fans)
I always loved watching Zo play. IMO, Zo was the next most important guy in the Finals (behind Wade). If Zo didn't play with such intensity and fire, they would not have beat us. His inspiring play I think was really a constant catalyst for the Heat. If we had someone like him on our team, we definitely would have won a le, possibly 2 by now.
I'll give Zo this much credit ... at least he didn't leave the court on a wheelchair even though he actually did injure his leg.
I find that funny, especially he being Wade's teammate. The dude has some pride and he aint a little . But he was indeed an asshole on the court, off the court, how the should i know. Sad that he got injured, may he enjoy his retirement.
You know how many people in ALL sports say they will play for one team (or school) and then change their mind and not go there?
That is no where near as bad as blantantly cheating, like the Pats did.
all athletes cheat.
how are they pathetic and disgraceful u cant get fired up when you do seomething damn man i aint never seen so much hate on a player who plays with 100% heart stop talkin because i know you would love to have him on the spurs
I believe every player on the Spurs blatantly cheats, and gets caught, every game. Sometimes they blatantly cheat six times and are disqualified from playing the rest of the game.
The Patriots broke a league rule and were punished. When Tim Duncan breaks a league rule in just about every single game he's ever played, he also gets punished.
It's unfortunate that his career is in all probability ended in such a manner. He was not my favorite player (ranked up with Karl Malone as a player I disliked intensely for their on court shenanigans), but he did play hard and came back from serious illness. All indications are that he was very active with some good causes, and it's sad to see him suffer this sort of injury. I hope he recovers well.
Mourning's career is over...at his age, he's not coming back from an injury like that.
Happy trails, 'Zo...
Mourning made the Raptors buyout his contract by telling them he was medically unable to play in NBA..... then he signed with the HEAT for next to nothing (because he got a pile of $$$$ from the Raptors for his lie).
I haven't liked anyone less than Alonzo because of his fake posturing and arrogance. He's not a mean guy. Yet it means you have a little ding-ding if you have to fake it. Or unless you wanna nut up to prove that you have none.
Was AlonzoMo one of the best shot blockers of all-time? Sure. So was Mark Eaton.
Would I ever want anyone's career to end due to injury or even worse WISH that upon him.
I'm glad he's only been a minor contributing factor to a championship. He couldn't take Charlotte or the Heat TO one.
Zo is arrogant, but he's one of the most compe ve players I've ever seen; just watch the look on his face every time his team loses a game
Wow you are re ed.
Then tell me what I said that's so "re ed". The Patriots broke league rules and were punished for it. Professional athletes break league rules, and are punished for breaking them, all of the time. What's so re ed about that?
Looks like you're the re ed one here pal.
Zo was a on the court. And a hoe on the business side.
