my favorite player at the time. But he was not overrated, he was really good from day one, averaged over 13 points/game as a freshman and is not the answer.
wrong year, he was later.
wrong year
Again, what does his eventual production have to do with whether he might have been predicted to have been overrated?
It's an objective question in the sense that there is a definitive prediction that the Sporting News offered in 1988 -- the prediction itself was certainly subjective, but it's like asking who Marc Stein predicted would win the 2005 NBA Championship.
A little trivia about Crawford Palmer.
He won an Olympic silver medal in 2000.
Well ...with objectivity like that...please excuse my earlier statements.
someone already said him but harold Miner, he was a much hyped failure. other than two dunk contests.
BANG!
Robert Horry is the answer.
The Sporting News college preview in the fall '88 claimed that Robert Horry of Alabama was the most overrated incoming freshman in the country.
Great Job, Waydowntown!!
Boy, was the TSN wrongola!
that asshole is the reason I only played fantasy basketball once![]()
WTF? We needed three pages and a bunch of garbage about me suggesting that Horry is overrated today to get to the point that The Sporting News made a horrendous prediction in 1988?
Bro, that was the second post in the thread. Why milk it for three pages?
Well...some would say that Horry has failed to live up to his potential...
He has kind of a rep for coasting.
Worst. Thread. Ever.
Seriously, I've only been here a few years, but this is the absolute worst I've seen thus far. Re ed. Just shameful and stupid.
This thread is like Corky after 15 years of being a meth addict.
He was pissed off the question got answered so quickly?
In hindsight...I didn't even understand the question.
Thanks for acknowledging that.
This thread is a lock for the Fail HOF.
No thanks necessary...it's merely a case of being honest.
I thought he was just talking about a list of rankings for highschoolplayers and was going to point out what a joke the top ranked player by SI turned out to be in retrospect.
galileo =![]()
I guess I'm taking the acknowledgment on your part as understanding that I wasn't calling Robert Horry overrated.
Um...your argument against his HOF worthiness stands on it's own merits. While I may have been in error in intertwining that argument with statements you made in this thread...you still have a horrible anti-Horry HOF argument on record...
That said...good answer in this thread![]()
LMAO @ him saying what answers were wrong but ignoring the correct answer for three pages because it was the second guess
