Or maybe Scola wouldn't play enough D for Pop to give him many minutes.
Or maybe he'd be a starter averaging a double double but the Spurs would be worse off as a team.
Or maybe be he would have gotten injured as a Spur and not be playing.
Or maybe he would be the teams leading scorer and they'd have a better record than the Celtics.
Or maybe they would have traded him midseason for Kurt Thomas.
    Or maybe ...

The Scola obsession here is ridiculous. If the Spurs were missing the playoffs or something, I could understand it. But no one knows if Scola would have produced here in San Antonio. Beno produces in Sacramento and he was a lazy scrub here. Different environments bring out different results.

If Scola was here, there's no guarantee he'd be playing how he is playing with the Rockets.

And the point is that he isn't here.

And the Spurs are in first place in the West.
So what was the story about benching Finley for good, two weeks back?

    Popovich didn't.
    He was right, apparently.

I've been against the Scola trade but this wasn't the game to point at as Scola being a good player. The Spurs were going right at him and scoring almost every time. Putting up points in a blowout loss while getting scored on repeatedly and simultaneously having the worst +/- on your team isn't exactly a great accomplishment.

Scola has played a lot better. This was actually one of the worst games I've seen him play this year.
i can't bealive you're saying that scola is a bad deffender.

    ...just kidding

All I gotta say now is ........ F Scola. F the Rockets. With the playoffs around the corner, I no longer care about whether that trade this summer was good or bad.

We got Oberto on the Spurs. Oberto is a big game player. Scola was a big game choker in Euroleague. Scola is free to help the Rockets lose once again in the first round. If you find yourself rooting for Scola, try this link and stop bandwagoning on the Spurs.

The Spurs have gotten serious. It's time for their fans to step their game up as well.

Well maybe you have to look at the long run. Maybe over the next few years with splitter and ian on board. Maybe the spurs liked ian's athleticism in the long run and splitter promise. otherwise keep having your scola wet dreams, i'd rather argue why scola isn't on the barge in june.....

Scola's performance today was worthy of Antonie Carr, I will give you that.

    I'm not upset - I'm laughing.

And no one knows if you were right - Scola is good for Houston, but who knows what he would have done here.

My argument for months was that Scola would have been a very good player and a fierce compe or a-la-Ginobili.

    Some disagreed, often vehemently.

    That's it.

I personally think Scola is a good player, but not worth the worry.

His rebounding is mediocre, his defense is pathetic. The defense on Duncan was Nowitzki esque.

Scola is way too damn focused on offense to be a Spur.

    Rockets 24 24 17 23 88
    Spurs 35 31 19 24 109

You were disgusted watching this game?

The Spurs beat down the Rockets.
The Spurs are in first place in the West.
The Spurs have won 7 in a row.

    Disgusted?

You aren't a Spurs fan then.

BTW, someone might wanna get a police escort for Bobby Jackson.

I could see Kurt jumping in his car chasing down the Rockets bus.

Sometimes I wonder if a majority of posters here aren't more about player moves than winning. Sure, I like discussing trades and what not, but the Spurs spotted the Rockets the almighty Luis and it didn't matter today. Seven wins in a row and knocking on the door of the #1 seed.

Hey, it's warming up outside. Get out, take a walk, enjoy your life, now is not the time to end it, etc...

    That's it.
    It's all relative on earth.

The absolute and perfection are outside our reach.

So we don't really want to relate the stats of Scola in his rookie year with those of other players that are quite phenomenal now.
