Both Gasol and Posey are out for tonight's game vs. PHX.
Plus Mike Miller sat out the second half last night with a concussion.
Gasol is turning out to be somewhat injury prone. Seems to sit out a lot.

Well, there you go....Pop gets to chill during All Star weekend....just what he wanted. In fact, i think he told the Spurs players to "throw" the Portland game just for that reason.
Pop gets coaching job at All Star game!!!
Pop is not getting time off like he wanted.
We will have the best ALLStar game defensively that we have ever had now.
I expect a score in the 80's-90's now.![]()
Spurs still have to beat LA.
har de har har
Losing to LA is not even a remote possibility....bank on it.
Let's see, the star is out the coach is gone, and thanks to that Utah game, I'm uneasy about this one.
well, couldve said that about Seattle last night.
Maybe the Spurs have gotten past it?
It could be argued that the Spurs had motivation to beat the Sonics because of the fact they have already lost to them twice. I would have thought they were over it before, but after Utah there was the Portland game.![]()
SA hates the Lakers, they want to destroy that team and they want to piss off their fans...it matters not who is in that uniform, they hate the sight of it.
They will win by 15 pts or I will buy you wine.
Change it to Rice Krispy Treats Cereal and we got a deal. That stuff is awesome.
If SPURS win thur & Suns win out at minny & NY...POP still coaches right?
SPURS = .791
SUNs = .775

the key was Phoenix getting that 11th loss....now the Spurs hold Pop's destiny in their hands.
I am sure he will play Malik and Kiwi tomorrow as much as possible to help his cause, but LA sucks so bad, that even Pop can not up the Spurs' winning.
Good call.
The Griz shot the ball very well. 57% from 3!
The Suns had open shots but couldn't get them to fall.
Barring a meltdown against the Lakers looks like Pop gets the All-Star nod.
Good for him, he deserves it. It would have been nice but losing the game against the Griz is more upsetting than the All-Star thing.

Better be ready to spend money on a good bottle of wine.
You know, even if Pop tries to tank this game to get out of the AS game, I could see the Spurs players winning the game despite Pop just to yank his chain...
I think Jim is right, I don't think there is anyway the Spurs come out flat or have a letdown this game.
Mihm isn't healthy either right?
The Spurs are going to try and destroy LA.
I don't understand why popatzi doesn't want to coach the all-stars, to me that's an honor.
To coach the best players on the league is something to be proud of.
And this is the guy who was the coach of the year in 2003?
Pop usually uses the AS break to prepare for the second half of the season.
He's more concerned about winning a le than he is about coaching a meaningless exhibition game.
He did say it was an honor to be able to coach it...but he's a practical guy and knows the game really doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things.
Personally I think the game would be more fun with D'antoni coaching it...he likes uptempo ball(or at least he does when Nash is his PG)...Pop is not an uptempo type of guy naturally...
Still I'd rather beat some Lakerass into the ing dirt and give them a nice warm sweep on the season more than anything...So I hope the Spurs win this game.
Since the all-star game is meaningless to him, does this mean he's going to lose on purpose?![]()
I can hear it now!
Spurs fans new excuse:
"Popatzi lost to the Lakers because he didn't want to coach the all-star game..."![]()

That's the whole point, troll. Pop might try to tank this. And if yours was a half-decent team, it might even work. But no chance of that with your sorry ass Fakers.
Pop has already said on the radio that he would rather not coach the All Star game, and he would rather none of his players played either because he would like them to rest. He doesn't really think much of the AS games.
That said, he won't try to hold any players back from playing and he will probably coach if so chosen. And Pop does not try to lose games. He will try to win, and win he will. The Lakers may as well bend over to receive the big one when the Spurs stomp them.
@#)(*)(! Jim!! You and the $#@)(*! wine bets! When will you ever learn? Every time you bet wine the Spurs LOSE!!!
STFU with the wine bets!!
