The reason the refs are on our side is we pay them off with the money we save on player salaries. Cheaper by far and guarantees more wins in the long run.![]()
You guys were on a 7er. SA NEEDED this win, and they got it.

Yeah, I know, but I'm a Pistons fan. No matter how much I like you guys, I'm always gonna wanna see my team win.![]()
Big props to the Spurs for the beat down they gave us tonight. You guys played good defense and we missed some open looks but anyway. Props see you guys in June.
Mason was gone, so this game doesn't count. Clearly, his absence is the only reason they lost. I demand a rematch!
Seriously, though, Detroit blew tonight. They were horrible. Atrocious. Embarassing.
(at least I called it, though - my guess was only one point off)
Whens the last time they shot 51% vs the damn PistonsMy bad, TPark. It was actually 51%. I was perusing the NJ boxscore![]()
Thoughts:
-Elson getting more minutes and responded tonight. Pop has taken Oberto out of the rotation and has gone with a three man bigman rotation of Duncan, Elson and Horry. Elson had very good energy and played as well as we've seen him play since the first game of the year.
-Parker and Manu played pretty well. Good job attacking. Both had some turnovers and some bad shots, but the energy level was there.
-Duncan had a solid game. I think he was too passive to open the fourth, but other than he was a force. He usually struggles against Rasheed, so it was nice to see him do well.
-Horry and Vaughn had some very nice hustle plays off the bench. If they can come in, play scrappy and play smart, that could be good enough. Neither one can be counted on hitting a shot at this point, but they can make up for that in other areas.
-Bowen and Barry were pretty much invisible tonight. Both passive offensively and neither did a stellar job on the other end of the court.
-Chucker Finley had his share of bad shots. But I guess he has to keep firing because he doesn't do anything else well enough to deserve minutes on the court.
-Oberto had a good couple minutes, but it's obvious that Pop has decided to take him out of the plans.
-The Spurs got the better end of the whistle tonight. It didn't change the outcome of the game, but they got some calls to go their way.
-That zone defense the Pistons like to play is Nellie-esque. If I were a Piston fan, I'd hate it. Playoff series aren't won with gimmicks like that.
-Webber is a gimp but the Pistons have good enough defenders around him to make up for that. He's still going to be an outstanding passer.
-Big win for the Spurs. They needed this going into the ASB. If they can bring this type of energy and effort the rest of the year, they could make some noise.
Way to go Spurs!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy right now!![]()
My hats off to the Spurs, they took a flat Pistons team to the woodshed and will hopefully leave a bitter taste for a few days.
The reports of the SPurs demise were greatly exageratted.
This win by the Spurs was a fluke. Blake with 18 assists, Elson with 18 boards, Celtics snap 18 game skid. There is something fishy going on and the Spurs have a hand in it...
Where is Bavetta when you need him?
Cops in Dearborn, MI on G4 tv. Pistons fans are going on the crime spree. Live on 354. Thank you Spurs for a great night.
sleep it off and you'll be okay in the morning.
BTW, 67-yr old Bavetta is busy right now practicing for the amazing race against Charles Barkley for the old-star ,i mean All-star weekend

Bwahahahahahahahahaha.![]()
Sorry, I had to do it. You won't be on the boards for a couple days anyways
Yeah we'll see i thought we would lose tonight but to me it looked like the Spurs were awful determined to win these last 2 games before the break get some momentum going into the 2nd half and shut some people up at the same time.
Couldn't see either game.
The things Im hearing though that make me smile.
Defensive intensity, more hustle on the rebounding side of the ball.
Fix those two things, and this team will be ok.
Spurs and Pistons are so similar. Both teams are champions. Both did it with defense. Both had the rules changed on them to open the game up because the rest of the fans were tired of watching the Spurs and Pistons win les. Both are trying to overcome those rule changes and adapt to the new style. Both teams have for the most part....smarter fans than the rest of the league! Teams have mutual respect for each other and play "the right way". I'd love to see another Pistons/Spurs final and watch the networks whine about it!
one of the best posts of this thread.![]()
I added this after the game:
sorry i didn't see this earlier. May i ask if Nazr's happy with his situation?
Is he going to get traded?
I can only hope Dallas fans see what this thread contains and learn off of it..... 2 rival teams with respect...
Then again, maybe Im asking to much from Dallas fans, they dont even know what the respect is...
Pop was saying that Spurs FG% on the road has been a problem. Tonight was step towards fixing that. now, consistency.
I noticed that the Spurs have been playing looser vs Nets and Pistons, not so constipated and stagnant on offense, more mobility on defense. eg, Fran was anticipating and rotating pretty welll.
I still catch Spurs in no man's land spectating shots instead of crashing the boards.
"Dallas fans see what this thread contains and learn off of it..... 2 rival teams with respect..."
Spurs are still a long way behind the Mavs, but maybe moving in the right directions, finally.
