The owner of the account goes on to say they may not be Woj but they have "reliable sources." Also says its because the Spurs covet Bogdanovic. But honestly not like any of this is really groundbreaking stuff

Batum is $25m+ for next 3 years.

I wouldn't mind a trade sending DeRozan there with Batum and another asset.

Just two years left on Batum, not three.

Charlotte isn’t trading him BEFORE free agency and attaching an asset to move him. The price of doing so is higher than it will be in a month, as he won’t be clogging cap space for two free agency periods ... just one for the acquiring team. And they’re not doing anything with cap space either unless/until Kemba bounces.

I concede, and I don’t mind playing second fiddle.

Grain of salt tweet of the day

If true, why are they looking to clear cap space before training camp? Shouldn't it be before free agency? Isn't clearing cap space after free agency too late to use it for this season when all the good players are already likely to be signed?

Pretty sure the FO doesn't tell the league office what their plans are for aquiring or trading players.

My thoughts too, the news doesn't make sense. By then all the useful pieces will be gone.

Yeah I think he is more of a tea leave reader then any type of true insider.

I have no idea if that site is credible but, I took the tweet as meaning they were looking to trade him after all the big time FA's are spoken for and teams who lost out are looking to use their cap. Maybe we could trade him into that and use our space to get a lesser FA who is still on the market.

I get those wanting to trade DDR and if it clears the way for a prospect or another bigger name FA I'm for it but the whole idea that we can salary dump him and come out with a net positive shows just how ridiculous and absurd this forum can be at times. SA is 100% not going to land any top tier FA's and their not landing most of the second level guys either.

If clearing DDR and landing Bogs opens up room to add another rotation player then it might be worth it but salary dumping DDR straight up to land Bogs isn't enough to move the meter. I get that he's a better fit but unless there's another move partnered up or as a result of a Bogs signing this isn't a great idea. Certainly not an idea the FO would entertain.

The allure of Bogs has clouded ST judgement. You guys have way over valued him.

Very interesting. If he signs there, Griffin will have done a of a job reshaping the Pelicans in one offseason.

He’d be great there. I thought LMA would be a nice piece there too, but Hortford would bring leadership
