How many polls does one need? Take your pick.
IMO Trump got a net 1-2% bump from the conventions. fivethirtyeight has Biden's national lead at 7.4% right now and it was at 8.6% pre convention. The USC dornife poll (which tracks the same voters day by day) also shows Biden's margin down by a small amount but a big enough amount to say Trump got a bump.
The issue for Trump is that in modern history in bents haven't been able to add support between when the conventions are over and before election day, granted anything is possible in this crazy year.
I said it on another thread but each got a slight bump during and post convention.
Biden went +1.3 from August 17-24
Trump went +1.1 from August 24-31
Trump basically even out the DNC gain. Averages were actually a couple of points worse off at 7.1. Today that average is at 7.3.

I gotta admit the Trump fans appear to be a lot more excited about Trump than the Biden Fans are about Biden. I saw 5 different trucks yesterday decked out in Trump signs, banners, american flags, etc.

Depends how you measure excitement tbh. If it's based on buildings burnt, businesses looted, and innocent people beaten then Biden takes the cake.
Trump fans are more excited about Trump than any President or candidate that I can remember. People weren't driving around with Obama flags and wearing Hope hats either. The cult of personality is strong with maga s.
The enthusiasm for Biden is certainly low, but the enthusiasm against Trump rivals the anti-Obama sentiment in 2010.

There were a lot of Obama car stickers here in California.
I remember election night when he spoke in front of the diverse crowd, after 15 years in this country was one of the proudest moments I had felt as an American.
4 years later didn't even vote for him. What a letdown

Yeah it was a special moment for sure. I was hoping he would be more Bill Clinton-esque and get meaningful stuff done. But he didn't want to work with the right and the right did not want to work with him. Some of the worst gridlock I'd ever seen.
Worked for Republicans in 2016. And we weren't even coming off of 4 years of President Hillary Clinton ing up a pandemic and inciting riots.
