The thing that bugs me, whatever it was has to be bad enough to scare teams off claiming him off waivers. If its the spurs waived him out of respect for ptsd or whatever i dont know if that is enough. Its not like the spurs would call every team and violate hippa for the lulz.
No one with half a brain would take into account all hints and conclude it's PTSD. If it was, this is probably the worst possible way of handling it. Clearly Primo is at fault here, and we're not talking about something minor.

I think teams need cap space to claim him off waivers, so that leaves who? OKC and Indiana? Maybe there's someone else with just enough to grab him.

If he clears, I could see him helping a lot of teams as a 10-15 minutes reserve. Milwaukee might be the best fit, they need 6-7 guys who can kind of defend and allegedly shoot.

Yes. And the thing that keeps coming back is the instant scrubbing of him from the Spurs AND NBA stores.

What causes that type of reaction? Even if someone was maybe involved in a homicide (WHICH I ABSOLUTELY DONT THINK HAPPENED), they'd more than likely release a statement about letting the judicial process play out etc. His merchandise would probably still be up until more details came out.

So for me, the only thing I can figure is they have video evidence or an admission of some crime or violation that is egregious enough to immediately be dropped. And when juxtaposed with his own release of dealing with a past trauma that he wants to help others deal with later, 99% of the time those are sexual or physical abuse received as children that he perhaps revisited upon others.

He’s probably also be suspended by the league just incase it’s a player on a rookie deal wanting out. I don’t think that’s what he was trying to do. But you can’t just have players try to force out of rookie deals

Don't think its him wanting to move on. By all accounts it has nothing to do with basketball, even in his short statement. All things point towards something more serious.

I get that. But this could be a future issue and way for others to move teams after a year. I absolutely don’t think that’s what this situation is about. But it opens doors.

Even if he clears waivers, I hope there's some offset to the cap hit when he signs with a new team.

I hope he doesn't sign with the Lakers. Because they probably could have put him in a Westbrook deal to get some picks who hopefully won't be prone to whatever is going on

One (perhaps overoptimistic possibility): Primo suffered a mental health crisis as a result of previous trauma (PTSD), asked to be released so he could focus fully on his mental health, and the team granted his request to maintain goodwill. Then, after two years when his contract ends, he will have received mental health treatment, taken strides to overcome his challenges, and then signs a new, multiyear contract with the team and picks up right where he left off.
You would not have to waive him, if that was the case.

Pacer are the only team who can absorb his salary. He will definitely clear the waivers, meaning Spurs will definitely be signing check for him throughout next season.

If he just felt overwhelmed as a 19 year old passed as the future, I get it. As long as he didn’t rape/take pics of him with and endangered Sasquatch minor while driving a gas guzzler to the Pelosi residents the other night. The accusations are crazy. VS people just quit their jobs these days. That’s what I think happened. He wasn’t happy and ran off with his money. I don’t think he did any thing bad

Man, he got waived for exposing himself? I think that's what Rod Strickland did that got him traded to Portland. Seems like they should let him get help instead of just waiving him. Unless he got some kind of a sex offender conviction.

So Primo is a nudist That rumor from the four seasons seems to be true. That‘s probably not good for team morale when you know your team mate is pulling out his everytime he sees a woman. This dude is a weirdo. I‘m sure some people here can relate

So the statement Primo released was basically him claiming that he was molested and/or sexually abused as a child, and that’s why he goes around flashing other women.

Would need more details to figure out if it's really career killing.

Because on the surface that doesn't seem like the kind of thing to keep other teams from signing him, like at all.

If there's no charges, that seems like the kind of thing where you put him in some kind of psychological treatment program and then he's good to go.
