That was an epic game, the crazy thing is that both of these teams will probably be even better after the all-star break.

My calendar tells me to chill the out.
A year ago today we probably all said the same thing. Then in a couple months the team was in the hole, we traded for Kidd twice, and then the season and J-Ho's career both went completely into the crapper.

Still no reason to be concerned, since it's "early" in the year?

If that's a slapping we need to redefine a lot of words of our vocabulary.

If they played again tonight, would anyone want to guarantee a Spurs win?

They sure a wouldn't want to guarantee a Mavs win.

What sucks about games like these is when they go to Double OT. All that effort for an L. And as El Nono pointed out, ordinarily you wouldn't get too down about these losses, but it's a divisional game, and the West is once again going to be a game of musical chairs with 9 worthy teams fighting for 8 spots.

Fair points, and if we end up losing seeding position to the Spurs by 1 game or missing the playoffs by 1 game this loss will bother me even more . But as of right now, I'm not terribly upset with the way the Mavs performed last night.

The west will be a game of musical chairs regardless of last night's outcome.
ElNono, that's just the variance of basketball. Sometimes you lose a game where you outshoot and outrebound an opponent, and sometimes you win. It's not as if the Spurs shot terrible either, 49% and 8 more shots than the Mavs (due to 7 TO's to the Mavs 13).

I said before the 7 game homestand that I would be pleased with 6-1 or 7-0. 6-1 is still possible, and with the only loss being 2OT game that could've gone either way, I'd consider it a successful homestand.

Any loss to the Bobcats, Thunder, or Nuggets though would be very disappointing though.
