I don't see why Philly takes that, other than to get rid of Brand.

I would love Brand as a backup to Dirk, but for some reason most Mav fans vomit at the idea.

I like Caron whom I met when he was a Wizard and he is a class act. Offensively the Mavs will be ok with Stevenson, Marion and Roddy B/Terry playing more, but his loss will hurt their defense on the greats like Kobe or Manu when it counts.

the only way Philly trades Iggy is if a team takes Brand's contract too. I would do this in a heartbeat. But most Mavs fans think it's stupid because it would ruin their financial flexibility in the future. To which I have two replies - "What financial flexibility?" and "What future?"

ehhhh... that would be a good trade, imo. Maybe not the greatest, but Nocioni can play D and if Iggy gets in the running game with Kidd/Marion, it can work.
The question is wether Philly feels like calling off the season. They've been playing decent lately.

What do you mean you don't see why they'd do it? They'd be getting rid of 2 contracts they don't want and opening up all kinds of space. Iggy is disgruntled and they don't see him fitting in with their long term plans they've said.

If they just want to dump salary, then sure they'd do it. But I still think teams will demand Roddy, especially with the knowledge that Caron is out for the year and the Mavs are ed unless they make a move.

Exactly. money. It's not my cash to begin with. With your team headed up by Dirk and Kidd, the time to make a move is now. You don't have a team of 25 year-olds looking to build a dynasty. If you want to win the big one, you have 1-2 years to do so with that core.

It gets rid of massive salary. I think Philly has realized that Iggy is not part of their long term and has been exploring the idea of trading him for some time.
DB just posed an article on Dallas interest in Iggy, but for some reason its for "insider" members only. Fish finally sold out.

We need to stop acting like we are replacing an irreplaceable player.
Butler is a good player, but I count 4 players that we would not be able to live without on this team: Chandler, Dirk(obvious), Terry, Kidd.
We don't need a big trade just a small upgrade to cover his production.

A key too our failure. I realize that he is a big part of our offense, but that is part of the problem. We rely on him too much and, come playoff time when he disappears, it comes back to bite us.
