Lakers are very tough to beat when their role players are scoring..that's why I was surprised so many people overanalyzed the Spurs game..Lakers always have the advantage inside, but it's usually negated by their poor shooting from outside..
When mediocre players like Artest, Blake, Brown and whoever else are making a positive impact, they're impossible to beat..usually you pressure the paint against them, and let those players(+ Fisher, Barnes) beat you..if they are actually capable of making a significant impact, you aren't going to beat them..
They're also very difficult to beat when Kobe makes himself the #3 option, but that won't happen too often, especially under the bright lights..
I agree with mystar though, the Mavs take way too many bad shots..

Brian Cardinal always makes an effort to foul extra hard on clear cut scoring opportunities... its like he tries too hard to come off as a physical/tough guy because he cant do it with his style of game.
