Well deserved, they looked like in a lot of games and had a terrible record against +.500 teams. Even Kobe calling out the team couldn't right the ship. The reason they're playing great now is not a result of "flipping the switch," but of Andrew Bynum being 100% healthy and in game shape, which he wasn't for the majority of the season.

It is not so much flipping the switch as I argued in the coasting threads. No true compe or goes into a game thinking its ok to lose. It was simply a lack of effort and motivation. You could see it in thier demeanor both on and off the court. You cannot deny the focus since the all star break. You can see it. Drew didn't suddenly get healthy and in shape over the all star break. He got a good talking to from Chuck and PJ.

Championships are won with D. We all know this. The difference since the break is the Lakers concerted effort on TEAM D with Drews new "focus". This is why I laugh at all the haters thinking Kobe's shooting % diminishes any win or championship. It's laughable. Any player on the Lakers, ANY, could shoot 20% in a game and they still win. It's simply, beautiful!

Lakers might have a tough series vs. the Mavs, and they would be in for a tough series with Chicago, but they would probably win both..they would beat Boston and San Antonio without any problems, based on what we're seeing right now..they should be fine, as long as they don't play Miami, or Bynum isn't a 100%..

The Lakers have the same flaws as earlier in the season, except Artest has gotten a little better..the difference is obviously Bynum playing like their best player..

Miami isn't going to out rebound the Lakers consistently in a 7 game series. That frontline won't get the job done. No rebounds, no rings.

What happened to the center position in today's NBA? I can't recall another period like this in my lifetime where the starting center position is the weakest across the board. How many big men are averaging a double-double?

Oh and if we are going to play the regular season card, Miami has no shot to get out of the east. They are 0-6 vs Boston/Chicago.
