Reading is fundamental. I just noticed that wasn't official picks; I guess I just assumed since it was listed on nba.com.
Congrats to Tony; well deserved.![]()
I guess you gotta put a Mav in, seeing as they are the champs, but c'mon, Dirk has been crap so far this season. TD > Dirk tbh.

fail.
Congrats to TP. He totally deserves it
Also, LOL @ Marc being chosen and not Pau
I'm not very good at the internets.![]()
Gasol has no business being chosen ahead of Duncan and Millsap. I knew the coaches would want to reward the Grizzlies from last season though and let's be honest, the next time a legit All-Star candidate who's white doesn't make the cut, will be the first (in recent memory, at least).
The starters have always been a popularity contest, but the reserves weren't, until last season. It used to be about winning, unless you were a perennial guy to begin with. Then Love puts up big numbers and all of a sudden, conveniently that no longer mattered.
I remember Robinson being selected in '01. Why was he selected? Because he was an all-time great, playing on an elite team and the coaches respected him. Fast forward to this season. Duncan is essentially playing the role of Robinson, only he's playing better and is an even greater all-time great, yet he doesn't get afforded the same respect.
I'm fine with Nowitzki and Nash making it. Although, since it bothered many last season that Duncan was selected, then based on that, Nowitzki's selection should receive the same criticism. Duncan, Millsap, P. Gasol and Jefferson, have all been better than him.
Last year all the "experts" bashed the coaches for giving Duncan a "lifetime achievement" award by voting him onto the All-Star roster. I hope they talk about Nash and Dirk getting the same treatment this year, because both don't deserve to be there. Nash may be putting up the stats, but his team isnt winning. And Dirk just hasnt been Dirk all year....
TD (since 98) and KG (since 97). Two long streaks end this year.
Great for TP. Is anyone surprised Nash Westbrook and TP made it?
lol at the "you were wrong" crowd.
Actually the load and playing time Tony is currently logging is a concern, hopefully with Manu's return that is relieved some bit, I would trade a fresh Tony in the playoffs anytime over a well accomplished regular season (e.g All NBA selection, 2nd or 3rd team)
Come to think of it if Manu and Tony played in seperate teams I woul'nt be suprised if they were perenial all Stars year after year. but the Spus have bigger priorities
NBA covering its tracks?![]()
