I am not sure McDonald gets paid. I think they had a "bring your very untalented kid to work day" and he just stuck around. Like Milton from Office Space.

What I really dislike about him is how submissive he sounds with Pop when he has no problem asking annoying question to the players... Monroe and him have some sort of ongoing compe ion to see who can come up with the easiest question for Pop, sometime they go so far with it it's ridiculous...

His job is not to appease Spurs fanatics. That's what sites like this are for. His job is to provide Spurs-related content for the average San Antonio citizen and Spurs fan, who likely has no idea who people like Jeff Pendergrass, Mickael Gelabale, and Vitor Faverani are.

McDonald is not a multi-million dollar coach or player, he's just a working stiff like you and the rest of us. Cut him some slack.

ST is one of his primary sources of information. He's definitely read this thread by now.

Honestly, he's terrible at his job. How many times in the last 6+ years has he been the original source of any news about the Spurs? There's no excuse for the beat writer for the only daily newspaper in town to have such poor connections within the organization after all these years.
