The real question here is, is this the nail in the coffin for De Colo?

This guy is a legit NBA player and he's athletic, at least I hope he still is. That can't be said for most of our guards. I like the signing. Still hoping for a forward though.

I thought Shannon Brown was an up and coming player in the mold of Kobe. Dude has crazy hops, he's fast on the break, only needs direction. We'll see. Never understood why he was cut to begin with.
Pretty sure you are being sarcastic. But I actually think he can be a solid player for someone, he has crazy athleticism and is a capable scorer which you cant teach. Put him in the right environment to help him get his together and he might end up being a solid player...look at Gerald Green for example. At the very least its a better gamble than putting 'high IQ' scrubs like DeColo out there tbh.

The Spurs need bodies on the perimeter asap with everyone injured and he is one with a lot of NBA experience. Per par, all of you heads seem to think a LeBron James clone is going to fall out of a tree and sign a ten day. Not surprising, tbh.

    Carry on.
Out of a tree? What are you implying? lol

Brown's already the second most athletic player on the team after Kawhi.

bet this one ends up clicking. i've got a good feeling about it.

he could take over the backup 1, move mills to the neal/2guard spot where he just has to worry about scoring, trade cojo and nando for help at the backup 3.

or he could be the neal/2 guard scorer and let mills focus on improving at the 1. that would help a declining ginobili to not impact us so badly.

Pretty sure he'll be a 2. Asking him to be a PG would be idiotic.

Maybe one of Beli or Green is getting traded...
If one has to be worried about this signing, it's De Colo.

Seems good but I'll say again why was this guy not wanted on any nba team and looking to get in on 10 day contracts? Injury maybe?

a scoring punch at the 2 wouldn't help counter a declining ginobili who might not be able to consistently stay healthy? it's a good backup plan if ginobili is missing time, cmon.

Better than nothing, which is what that Ot o dude was anyways and he is an actual NBA player...that's good to have off the bench for a team with le aspirations instead of a bunch of glorified NBDL scrubs in Bonner, De Culo, Baynes, Joseph, and Ayres. Solid move and hope he stays longer if he suceeds.
    +1

Shootaround's been done for an hour, and the Spurs coaching staff is still out on the court getting Brown up to speed.

We're still going to be missing Ginobili and Green for a few weeks still. They're our best two SGs.

Spurs sign a decent SG to a 10 day deal as a stopgap 'til their real SGs get back so we don't have to keep using our even smaller/worse PGs at SG half the game. . .and this is somehow a bad move?

    Spurstalk for you.

Maybe one of Beli or Green is getting traded...

    Or they just love midgets...
Neither one is getting replaced for Brown.
