Still fumming over the fact duncan still hasn't won one
Well, that was a time that Duncan did, and still does, play such a vital part of the offense in addition to defense. Other players during that hey-day like Ben Wallace or Dwight Howard or Marcus Camby just weren't as offensively polished as TD, thus the fact they could focus more on defense rather than their all-around game. Just my thought, though.

Btw.: It's funny how huge this is for us (and I LOVE him winning it) while knowing it's so unimportant for Kawhi and the organsitation.

Thanks for that. LMAO @ the ESPN "experts" going with weakside shotblocker DeAndre Jordan...would've been the biggest travesty since Camby.

Kawhi really trying to mold his game like Michael Jordan's. Last game in the 4th quarter with the fake-spin, midrange fade away jumper. Now with the DPOY. Hopefully, you carry Spurs and then get your 2nd FMVP.
Yeah, some of Kawhi's mid-air hanging drifting pull-up jumper really is Jordan-esque. Not even Lebron or Durant got these move. The one other player i can think of that got these move is Kobe.

I'm surprised Pippen has never won it..Granted I didn't follow the 90's...But just looking at his advanced metric, how the Fk did he not win one..
90's where dominated by Centers. Drob, Zo, Mutombo. Hakeem. It's amazing that Payton even one won in that era.

Kawhi is the only wing player to win in the past 11 years. In the past 30 years, only Jordan, Robertson, Payton and Artest where the only non-bigmen not to have won the award.

Truely an amazing feat by Kawhi but well deserved after the March and April performance he had.

You're right about that. Duncan should have at least one. It's insane he doesn't.

    He's not being that unreasonable.

I don’t have a problem with Kawhi winning DPOY. 18 games was a lot to me, but apparently not to others. HOW he won is ehhhhhh.

Reason I don’t have an issue: if you ask me who I would be more scared of as a defender? Kawhi wins EASILY.
He seems to take issue with 2 things:

    1) Kawhi's missed games (valid point)

    2) The way the voting system works...voters clearly showing bias (ex: Trevor Ariza getting a vote from a Houston guy), and how Draymond got the most 1st place votes

Wow, so much momentum now for the spurs. If you're going to miss part of the season by all means make it the first part.

Interesting about the vote count...it looks like kawhi was on nearly everyone's ballot, but green got more number ones but was left off some ballots entirely. I guess bogut stole his award. Or dj votes. But I'll take a vote that shows kawhi is near unanimously a top 3 defender.
