If they bring him over this season, not in the slightest. They ABSOLUTELY needed another big man, especially a young center locked in cheaply. If they did this for monetary reasons, yes, they ed up. I feel like the Spurs will end up letting Green walk, keeping Ginobili and then pay David West $12 Million to put Splitter on the bench.

I mean, I wouldn't say that. But I DO like him a lot. In fact, he's a great pick if he's a Spur in October. But simply put, this doesn't jive with Pop's "big changes" talk if they stash him. You don't miss out on a chance of having a legit center prospect on your roster for $250-500k. Not when that amount isn't keeping you from signing anyone.

It's mostly a disappointing pick because of the value remaining on the board. The Spurs could've essentially replaced Beli for a third of the cost. Don't know anything about him to say whether I like the prospect or not.

-fill the bench outside of Mills/Manu/Diaw with minimum salary gutter trash

Yes, but that always needed to be offset with a good young player. Could totally still happen, but it's just unlikely as at this point.
