Cancer is a cruel mother er. You watch folks erode right in front of you, and you see their struggle for hope and the face they put on to convince others they are keeping the faith, but when the lights go out at night and there they are with their killer, that fear sneaks in and you just hope at some point along that last road that they made some peace with their own demons about life and their own mortality, because it's not just the trials of someone you know, it's foreshadowing what you're in line for if you're not lucky enough to die suddenly.

My dog was diagnosed with cancer 6 months ago, it's my only experience with it, fortunately..he hasn't even suffered, yet, so I haven't even had to deal with that part of it..

I can't imagine what it would be like to watch a family member suffer from that type of slow destruction is cruel..
