I've maintained all along that I thought his extending was more likely than not, but the way this is being reported is foolish. He didn't come out and proclaim himself a Spur for life, he meekly answered "yeah, sure", when the question about finishing his career with the Spurs was asked (even if he feels otherwise, as if he'd say so publicly and at this juncture). Normally, I wouldn't think much of that, except this was otherwise probably the most lucid I've ever heard him.
Nah, I want them. WCSF would be preferable obviously, to give Spurs more time to get healthy and in rhythm, but this team is going to have difficulty making the playoffs, let alone winning the WCQF (depending on match-up, the latter might actually be easier than the former though, since it would probably mean they've gotten healthy and somewhat in rhythm).
We've been waiting going on 4 years for this series. The season would be a disappointment if they once again come out of it without knowing the true extent of the gap (Rockets could now be included too). It would also provide the front office greater clarity on how to proceed.
My only issue and concern has to do with injury still not getting a real clarification of what happened/how much damage/is it going to be chronic?
I don’t want to be like the Bulls were with Rose.
The whole interview was weird to me. Sounded like he was reading from script. When they ask him about the pain he doesn’t say it’s gone he says it’s diminishing. Also about being a Spur he says yeah sure. No “absolutely” or “of course” that just may be him though. Also about the rift with the Spurs do people really think he would go out to the public his first interview in a long time while the team is 3-8 in the last 11 games and say there was acually a rift between the two.
I see us going 1-2 on this road trip possibly 0-3 that would probably take us to 9th place depending on how other teams do during that stretch when is he going to come back? There’s not a lot of time left in the season especially how they’re struggling.
Woj bombed.
No way in cant this offensively challenged team beat the Rockets
Kawhi was obviously coached on what to say. Hopefully he meant what was said but someone told him exactly what to say and thats why it sounds insincere/robotic/read off a teleprompter.
I think him saying something publicly and pushing to get back has some to do with Jordan brand telling him "you've played 9 games be glad we offered you 4 years at $20 million". Any endorsement deal he's trying to negotiate is likely thinking 'you were on the verge of greatness and all but how do we know you aren't damaged goods?' So he's going to have to prove it to them. And maybe even the Spurs cause they may be on the fence about the supermax with the Holts divorce.
And I call bs on him & Pop speaking everyday. Maybe he means everyday in the month of March cause he was notorious for not being the most communicative person when healthy. Him being frustrated over the injury and (mis)treatment would def have him being even more withdrawn which is why Jalen Rose and others were able to swoop in and make all those headlines/rumors. Kawhi's hand was forced so he finally said something. I truly hope he is a Spur for life but only time will tell cause things change and he's still young.

I’m sure you thought the same about Game 6 on the road without Kawhi..
You’re such a
Middle of March sounds possible. Hopefully it all goes as planned.![]()
Kawhi's "yeah sure" doesn't mean anything one way or another. What else was he going to say? It would have been much more significant if he had volunteered the statement about wanting to spend his whole career in SA with no prompting.
Kawhi is an elite player..he makes a huge difference..
Just use the Rockets as an example..they are what they are because of CP3. He’s made a huge difference and they wouldn’t be a true “elite” team without him.
Why cannot it be true for Kawhi?? Is he as good as the “player fan riders” make him out to be? Looks like they could be right..nothing wrong with that.
Kawhi coming back brings a little bit of hope and something to look forward to..which tbh we haven’t much of this year lol
team missing its best offensive player is offensively challenged... no way!
That means that Pop knew everything that Kawhi was doing to return since preseason...In fact, he traveled with Spurs personnel to train in other cities.
There was any possibility that Pop ignored what Kawhi was doing...So the trolls here saying Kawhi didn't talk to the team/the team didn't know what happen, where he was working, were wrong.
Like the b*tches here saying he didn't want play for the Spurs anymore.
OH ...SURPRISE... THEY WERE WRONG.

had 26 points with almost 8 minutes left in the 3rd.

He was on pace to get at least 40 and could have ended up with 50 if it wasn't for the Zaza cheapshot.
Some used to call him “CIA Pop”
Nah. Pop would’ve sat him in the 3rd and 4th for not getting over himself by scoring too much.
do you think Pop would be okay with Kawhi lying?
will be cool to see murray/kawhi/la in the SL.
Pop lied for years. He said his players were “hurt” when he was in fact just resting them.
He’s not above lying.
