The last player that met that criteria walked out the door last summer. He was drafted #15, overall, and we haven't had a pick any higher since 1997.
There's a reason that the Spurs do that. It works. The players get to learn the system with no pressure to perform as rookies, they get a taste of the NBA with limited games. They get player mentoring and coaching at the NBA level. By the time year 2 rolls around, they have all of that, two summer leagues, and two training camps under their belts. They are ready to play.
Some of you really have the patience of a two year old. If your cupcakes take 20 minutes at 325 degrees, will they be as good in 10 minutes at 650 degrees?
