Market has been overheated since early 2020 when the fed started with all kinds of magic tricks to keep it going through COVID. If Jerome Powell was actually a good fed chairman, he'd hike rates next month, shrink the fed's balance sheet, and let the market correction continue.
Fed signaled more dovishness yesterday in light of how the market reacted to Ukraine. Maybe 25 basis points now lol.

I'll be begrudgingly fine with 25 BPS at this point, I think that Powell is going to get nervous and not hike rates at all next month. That's been the fed's MO for decades....there's 100 different reasons why we should be raising rates, but the fed chairman finds the tiniest bit of bad news out there as a reason not to.

Also the fed's balance sheet is apparently bigger than it's ever been ....we have a labor shortage and an economy that's more overheated than it's ever been in my lifetime, the fed should be dumping assets right now.

Stock Market down -487 points to stand at 33,596.61 today.

    Let us proceed,,,,,
Tbh this isn't thread worthy unless Biden follows through with the Mother Of All Sanctions, assuming he can even get Europe to go along with them.

If he does that he will severely damage an already severely damaged global economy which will lead to global conflict. Making him the worst POTUS ever.

So far he's taking it like a . Let us pray he continues to do so.

    God Bless America
    Now it's thread worthy OP

Why would it do any more damage? The only major concern with Russia is oil/gas, and that was already an issue with the previous sanctions.

    Just wait for it El

Since Brandon has proven too weak to stay weak, the West might as well join the war now. It's going to happen eventually, slow rolling into it just makes it worse. Only chance now to save the world from a whole lot of hurt is to start mobilizing forces and pray the Russian military leaders respond with a military coup to avoid getting slaughtered by us. Too weak to be strong, too weak to stay weak, ya'll sure picked a winner in Brandon.

A few weeks I wish I don't think you going to like what you see in a few weeks in a few months and in a few years. I hope to God I am wrong but everything is pointing to a huge crash and peoples life saving are going to disappear. This economy can not function with Gas prices this high it can't the cost of everything is going to go up as fast as Gas prices you going to see Inflation like we have never seen in our life. And the sad thing is that when this happens it's the poor and middle class that are going to get screwed.....Again I hope I am wrong but don't count on it....

I like what I see. US Oil companies ramping up production, losing the dependency on Russian's oil, making renewables commercially viable, the US with a solid possibility to increase their share of oil exports (we're already the #1 producer in the world).

Sure, we'll take a hit short term, probably over the summer. Ramping up production is not an on-off switch.
