Because he's an overrated piece of that is only thought of as better a QB than guys like Allen or Jackson because his team's defense gives Mahomes problems like no other defense in the league.

If you look at Payton's resume in New Orleans, it's just about exactly identical to McCarthy's in Green Bay; especially when you consider they both had an elite QB for almost the same time frame. I assume the only reason everyone thought the former was a "great coach" while the latter wasn't was because McCarthy is a lard a$$ who gives off the impression of being lazy tbh imho
