Al hilal is full of players with 20+ transfer fee, a couple for 40 and one for 60 (+ snatched the coach from a team that went to two cl finals in the past few years), they are valued well above most south American teams iirc only flamengo and Palmeiras are above them- I'm glad they beat city at their own oil money game, but that doesn't make them contenders, football is a game where upsets are common but it's another story to string together 3-4 in a row and win a tournament- im rooting for them and flu and Palmeiras but it will be very difficult for all of them

A euro team will likely win this tournament and daf is right that that's only because they are full of non European players because they have the most money, before Bosman south American teams had a clear advantage despite having their best players poached
