Remind me what Malik did in the four games he got decent minutes.

Channing Frye was averaging 15 and 7 in December. His minutes went down each month for some unknown reason. By the end of the season he was barely playing. You think he sucks to or perhaps Larry Brown had something to do with it?
See above, Malik has been average/good less than 10 games this year

Rookie wall for Frye and he was injured for the end of the season.
Another reason why he hasn't played a lot is that he is a poor defender and with Curry at the C spot, you can't have a weak defender at the PF spot.

I remember everyone hating on Malik when he was with the knicks, now everyone wants him back. All possibilities are always exhausted when losing games is involved.

I'm hoping that Sean Marks is in the lineup in game 5.

Heck, I'm hoping the freaking ball boy gets some minutes if he can impede the onslaught of lane penetration the Mavs have put on the Spurs.

Malik would see minutes when the Spurs would have to go small. The NBA is getting smaller, not bigger. Nowadays Malik's height wouldn't even be a problem.
Except that ther are way better small players than Malik and you can get an undersized PF for cheap but you can't get a legit center for chezap

Yeah because Rasho will get a ton of minutes against the Mavs, Suns and Pistons.

And Malik too : the guy who can't play more than 15mpg in a bad team.

Wouldn't it be nice to still have The Mav Killer. Malik Rose played his best basketball of his career against the Mavs. He could guard Dirk or any number of their swing players. Rose also routinely destroyed them on the glass.

Even when David Robinson was around, Malik was the one who got most of the minutes versus the Mavs. Truth is the Spurs have always gone small against he Mavs, but the problem is the Spurs don't have a small who can rebound anymore. Rose was quick enough on the perimeter and was a monster on the glass.

If the Spurs had him this series they'd be looking ahead to the Western Conference Finals right now. Rebounding has killed the team more than anything and if there's one thing Malik can do, it's rebound.

Oh and before you post the "Nazr won the championship last year" crap, that's BS. He was good against Denver and pretty decent against the Sonics and Suns, but was horrible against the Pistons. He was a place holder for Horry ... no more, no less. Rasho or any other center with a pulse would have done the same.

Special shout out to Peter Holt for saving money on ditching Rose's contract.

Sigh..what ever you do, don't post Malik's stats from the last time we met Dallas in the playoffs. It'll hurt too bad....and make a desperate situation feel ever more hopeless. And delete that block on Bradley from your photo collection as well, you might accidentally post it.

I think the player most similar to Malik's game is Oberto. I wish we had him when he was a bit younger. He could be a carbon copy of Malik is he had some more bounce in his step. He's just as physical and aggressive on the boards, but it helps to get higher than an inch off the guard.

Malik could get to the FT line like a Beast...he's a better rebounder than Rasho, Nazr, Horr or Oberto...he could hit J's and he was fast enough to guard long players and big enough to be an obstalcle for the taller players.

Dirk wouldn't want to be anywhere near the tank that was Malik Rose....

Remember when LaFreantz started throwing bows at Malik?
I do...I also remember Magic and Barkley saying LaFrentz was stupid for even thinking he wants a piece of Malik...

I think LaFrentz hurt his elbows...

And one thing is beyond debate...what ever we might need from Malik...there is one thing he would definitely have given us...Maximim Effort. Something not in the vocabularly of any of our current C's.

How am I off the wagon???

Just because I got pissed means nothing. I am not off the wagon, I haven't given up, and I am still going to watch the rest of this series, regardless of how many games it lasts.

If the Spurs lose, then it. There's no point in watching another playoff game.

    Go Pistons, and that's it.

I'm considering not even watching another NBA game of any sort ever again.

I ca'nt take this anymore, the Mavs own the SPurs. Plain and simple.

If Dirk didn't go cold in the 4th quarter of game 1, by tonight the Spurs would be down 0-3.

That was one of my first thoughts watching game 1 of this series. Nazr was huge in the Phoenix series in helping the Spurs get off to big 1st quarter leads, but yeah... his rebounding sucked vs Detroit (about 5 a game). Still, he was 10x better than Nesterovich, and Malik would have taken Rob's minutes last year, so without that trade there's no way this team wins the 2005 le. Malik is the perfect bigman for this matchup though. I can't think of many guys I'd rather have for this series.

I just think it would be nice to have any kind of semblence of Spurs Defense.

No matter who was playing it.

With some the shots they were making are indefensible. The contested fade away on the baseline by crackhouse and the contested "i'll pull a shot out my ass and ark it to the ceiling over TD" terry shot were particularly sickening.
