Just getting put backs and rebounding over Dirk or Josh Howard would be enough. Doesn't need to create anything in the halfcourt set really.
The highlights look nice in terms of his athleticism and rebounding. But how much of it is PRE-ACCIDENT?

Nazr -- but with good enough hands to receive the pass when his man leaves him -- would be a start.
Hope to see bringing in Javtokas and Scola for the coming season.![]()

Yes, and boxing out on the defensive boards (which of course aren't in any highlight reels). I'm not saying he can't be useful, but I wouldn't get overly excited over what was on the clips.
True. Although don't underrate Nazr's little 12-15 foot jumper.
Yee ha, baby! I can't wait to see him sitting on the bench in the playoffs due to the Spurs' new "No Defense" policy.
small ball
Robertas Javtokas plays PF/C and Luis Scola is a PF, so that's three centers if you consider Javtokas and Duncan a center. If you read my stuff before I suggested a sign and trade for Rasho, Oberto, and 2-3 picks for Wallace. Nazr's going to Chicago. Plus, I put Bruce's backup so I put the long forward you speak of. And yes I do think the Spurs can make this possible.
Are these videos of explosiveness from before or after he got his leg shattered
Fred House is in most of them so I think that makes them fairly recent as he joined Rytas well after Javtokas came back from injury. I think these highlights are all from last year or this year.
Didn't you see him knock down 1 or 2 jumpers in the vids?
plus he has a hook shot, and some of the other videos posted of him showing that he has a good up and under move down in the lane
Like: big hands, seems to palm the ball with ease (like Timmy)
Excellent body control!
Surely he can develop his footwork and post moves practicing against Tim every day.
Love the dunk over the lead footed Sabonis!
He dunked over Sabonis?I gotta see it again!
Granted that is a highlight reel but he looks like an absolute warrior.
Correct me if I am wrong...but isn't that video broken down into the various stages of his career, and labeled as such? It looks like the Euroleague section of his career is clearly labeled.
Don't be a hater Shoogar.
I'm not being a hater.
Should we go back and pull what people were saying about Oberto before this year?
At worst, the guy is Chris Andersen without the stupidity.
Javtokas' athleticism is evident in those vids. Oberto moves at a somewhat more glacial pace.
I plead guilty![]()
Hmmm...I do remember arguing with someone last year who was certain that FIBA rules did not mask Oberto's defensive deficiencies in the '04 Olympics.
I'm not questioning his athleticism. I just don't see a tremendous amount of skills being displayed.
Again, he can certainly be useful, but I wouldn't pin the hopes of next year on him.
The yacht-opus might be the only guy on the planet with the size and agility to match up with Nowitski.
(ok Garnet and a healthy Amare might also be candidates)
I wasn't one of the ones saying he would start...I just said his game would translate to the NBA better than Scola's and that he would be a key contributor...let's hope I am wrong about that Scola part too.
Oberto never reallly got a chance...Rasho and Nazr are both 7 feet tall and can block shots...
