Yeah, unless Holt decides he needs to unload more salary.

They could've had their 1st rounder this year to take a stab at a James White. Last year they could've had a David Lee or a Monta Ellis. Oh yeah, and the perfect small ball big in the playoffs.

2 from the bucks and 1 for them.
Unless they traded their 2nd pick.
The trade was for the best of the Bucks' 2nd rounders next year. Not for both of them.

Trade made no sense. Battier has proven he´s nothing but a role player, Gay could actually turn into a t-mac type. They did it just to dump Swift´s contract which is just stupid.

So we traded the 59th pick in a weak draft (according to experts) for a pick that should be between 40 and 50 in a good draft.
    Good deal.

Posting this thread was fun for me for some reason.

There was like 200 people in that other Markota thread
Yes, it is funny. Let's see who got his/her dreams crushed:
    w00t w00t. # 52!!!
ESPN gave some pretty good props about him for being the 59th. I'm sure they really respect the Spurs and their late round picks now.
    What?
He seems to have everything the Spurs have been looking for.
    He's a tall 3 who can shot.
the NBA needs more white superstars
Not bad. I'm sure Pop can straighten out his at ude and teach him how to play a little D.
    Markota > Nesterovic + Beno

I really honestly can't believe anyone expected some big name stud from this draft.

This was considered one of the worst in HISTORY!
By bull analysts. "Oh Greg Oden, I have wet dreams about you." Next year will be the worst ever based on expectations, there is no way it can live up to them.

We should give up all of our players except: Tim, Tony, Manu, Bruce, Finley, Horry, Bonner
and trade them for draft picks, trying to get every single second round pick in 2007.

That's what I get for signing off early last night -- I thought we actually had a guy.

Oh well -- goodbye Mr. Euro guy I'd never heard of.

them all as you said. Trade them for the lottery guy 2007.
In playoffs there is an 8-man rotaion so as you said but trade for the top15 guy.

The San Antonio Spurs announced today that they have traded the draft rights of Damir Markota to the Milwaukee Bucks for the better of Milwaukee's two second round picks in the 2007 NBA Draft. Milwaukee currently holds their own second round pick as well as the Houston Rockets second round pick in 2007.
Lousy draft class and 59th pick didn't leave much to choose from. When you don't like what's left on the board, why get stuck with a mandatory pick if you can get rid of it and save the salary.

Most of those guys left out of the draft at the time we picked can be picked up for a song and put on minor league status or short term contracts to see if they work out--without making a big dent in our money situation.

What happens if T-MAc has the same back pain and Yao has foot problems again and they win something like 24 games? We get their second round pick?

Does this mean the Spurs 2006 Draft Day Cap will be going on sale soon?
