I believe you're onto something. If the Stem Cell bill passes, the Spurs plan to clone a new backup PG: Jaco Udrghn.Well, we do actually have a backup PG with a pretty good jumper.
no. He was decent. The dude was short as but he was quick and could get steals consistently. His jumper though was about 10 times as worse as Oberto's if that helps.

Is it official that they have signed the Spurs offer sheets or have the Spurs just offered? I am assuming that since the article says their respective teams have 7 days to match that they have signed but is this confirmed?
Why would he want to? Unless it were yours then yes he'd be on target with his shot.

Lol come on Spurs fans all in good fun. However, the Spurs and Mavs have done little in the offseason....which is disappointing. Mavs have been a bit more active....will be fun to see how these teams matchup when the season starts. By the looks of it so far I like the Mavs chances.....
The signing of Vaughn can only mean one thing. Beno will officially be the backup point guard while Vaughn holds his break a ways.
Or... Beno gets dumped for a 2nd rounder. Either way.
It's a decent pick up if he's only getting the vets minimum.
He's a much better defender than Van Exel. Doesn't turn the ball over much. Fg% is better, but isn't a mad bomber like Van Exel. However, he doesn't amass many assists for a PG and has no range on his shot from beyond 15 feet.
He's a servicable pick-up and won't hurt the team if he plays 10 minutes a game. I think the Spurs got a bargain here.

Spurs aren't getting younger.
JV won't get any minutes if Beno stays healthy. Beno should have no problem winning the backup if JV is his only compe ion. Beno's been w/the team for two years. JV isn't going to come in and pick up the synergy with the other players than Beno already has developed.
Problem is, Pop doesn't play up tempo. Still playing the "dump it into Tim" ball. Pop reminds me of Tom Landry. Other teams strategy caught up to him one day but old Tom was asleep...kept using the same old offense and defense. Basically, he hung around too long after the magic had gone.
Even then it went badly whe JJones fired him. But all was soon forgotten with 3 les in 4 yrsWould have been more if egos and pride hadn't gotten in the way.

I think if given a real chance, Beno will be an awesome back up point guard for us. I have confidence in him.
