Well than in that same sense, USC has had as much experience playing their own style of football as UT if you want to make this about whose more experienced playing their own styles. Which is a redundant thought and pointless.
No, I don't know anyone that would actually sell their tickets. I only considered it because it was a ridiculous amount. If I find someone I'll let you know.

Ummm.... You have a half point there, only that many other schools have fast people on their teams. BUSh is not the fastest player in college football. It's the blocking schemes, and runner's intuition that lead to a break away touchdown run for 80 yds.
And Btw, how do you know that nebraska doesn't have fast backs and safeties, do you have their 40's recorded?
Didn't Fabian Washington go to Nebraksa? 4.25 is purdy fast.
In no way shape or form could nebraska have contained Reggie Bush like Texas did. Bush would of been beating them to the outside every play, some the couldn't do against Texas.
...i don't call 82 yards rushing and 95 yards receiving a containment. Bush did not touch the ball that much and had almost 180 yards on a total of 19 touches.
however, nebraska could have done a similar job if there defense was set-up to slow down Bush as was t.u.'s. where NEB would have gotten killed is in the air...and t.u. had outstanding db's as will they this year as well.
This is the part where ironically they tell you of how much you hate UT and how you can't give them a compliment.![]()
25 yards receiving on a pass with with the defense dropped back and on 36 yard run. Pretty bad night for Gale Sayers.
And get off his nuts g-town. I think he has been saying all along Texas had one of the best secondarys, he isn't that big of a moron to try and say USC had a better secondary than Texas.
gates does make sense though, usc was so good, they didnt even have to "win" in the traditional sense, like leinart said after the game, theyre still a better team
...the whole defense was set up to stop Bush. this should not even be a conversation.
How do you know that though? Wasn't USC's defense set up by the great Pete Carrol to stop VY?
Good Luck in having that happen!![]()
Man SC had the most awesome team ever....................that lost a National Championship game.
There, a compliment for SC.
Like I've said before, true SC fans don't need to jump on any ag phrase because TRUE Trojan fans have spines & stick with their team.
You mean Pete Carroll the Greatest Coach ever that had the Greatest team ever.................That lost a National Championship game.
...i know b/c thats all the t.u. coaches talked about leading up to the game. and you could actually see the linebackers mimic Bush when he was in the game. thats how i know, its right there in front of you.
USCs defense was suppose to stop vy...they didn't. but it is much harder to stop a great mobile QB than a RB in CFB. vy gets a lot more touches.
Rose Bowl 2006:
vy: 59 touches = 467 yards 7.915 ypt
Bush: 19 touches = 177 yards 9.315 ypt
anyway, maybe they should have given the ball to Bush more. going into the game i was hoping for 25-30 touches...but White hada wonderful game and the receivers were doing pretty well. so, whatever...
Now where are those MORONS that say Mack can't coach?
He was smart enough to have the COMMON SENSE to have VY as his main weapon & USE VY.
Doesn't a QB touch the ball on about every snap on offense unless it is a direct snap to another player besides the QB?![]()
You do realize that the reason Bush didn't get that many touches was because the Texas D was doing a good job of stopping him and therefore leaving Mr. White unattended right? And its VY got a lot more touches. Not gets. He won't be getting any in a Texas uniform this year.
...you are an idiot. you don't know what you are talking about and you are correcting me on proper grammar when i used it correctly in that context. goodnight, stupid.
Talk about not staying on subject.
C'mon moron.............if you preach it live it or STFU & stop crying like a little with panties twisted up in ya!![]()
Good argument there buddy. You sure proved me wrong on my point. I guess Reggie did have a great game. That lateral was the highlight of it, and he should have won the MVP of the game for that.![]()
I think this point is moot.
To stop a great RB, you only need to focus on the run.
To stop a scramblin Qb, you need alot of sophisticated defenses. You can't blitz cuz he'll run the option, you just have to play tight coverage and have at least one player spying the qb.
The Quarter back position is just harder to contain. He controls the ball. In this case, if USC outcoached MAc BRown, Vince young could just scramble out of the situation. No ing here. USC would do the same.
Now on to this year.
Texas and USC are neck and neck. Championships aren't won on paper. THere's an old saying that goes, "A fool learns from his mistakes, a wiseman learns from others."
You would think that USC's mistake of thinking they deserved the le last year would of taught you horns fan's a lesson.
To come in here and about why you're not rated number one is silly.
Newsflash*** No one in Longhorn football is complaining about these silly polls and Vegas odds. Not even Mac Brown. Take your own words and sac up.
...its posts like these that make me wonder if some of you even watched the game or remember it correctly. i think the win has your mind clouded.
1. 177 yards on 19 touches is not stopping Bush on defense, no matter how you slice it. Bush had a good game
2. umm, White was never left unattended...wth are you talking about?
3. part of the reason Bush did not get more carries, and no it is not b/c of the t.u. defense, is b/c they had other players like White, Smith, Jarrett, and Byrd

You obviously didn't watch the game either. He had 37 yards on a play when Texas was dropped 30 yards back, than the one 26 yard run.
So without that run, he had 56 yards on 12 carries and without the gimme 37 yard pass he only had 58 yard receiving.
Sorry, Reggie Bush was shutdown in the rosebowl. He could never get around the corner like he was against the fresno states.
...you cannot take away any yards, moron. did they happen during the game? yes. was Bush's yards critical to getting the Trojans almost into field goal range? yes. was all they needed a field goal to tie the game? yes.
your point is stupid and irrelevant. hmm, lets take away vy's 59 touches...well what do you know, he didn't do anything if you take away his big plays. mind you Bush only touched the ball 19 times to vy's 59 (40 throwing 19 running).
Damn, you are part aggsy aren't ya, kid? The Rose Bowl was a moral victory for Southern Cal the same way 40-29 was for aggiefan.
"...golly gee, we almost did it!!!...."
If we were comparing who had the most yards then I couldn't, but when you say the Texas in no way shape or form shut him down because he had 1 long run and 1 gimme pass thats just re ed.
Did you not watch the game? Not once did bush get to the oustide like he did all season against crap defenses. Texas' defense was to fast for him to bounce to the outside.
He was shutdown
