Parker is the modern day David Robinson. Spurs fans love to criticize him when he has an off game, but ignore the other 95% of games.

IMO, that's because Parker plays PG, and DRob played C...the two most difficult NBA positions..thne two most picked on by fans.

    But Tony VS Manu?

I don't see how any one can hate either of them...anyone that hates either of them, they would have never survived the Vinny, AJ era.

Anyway...part of the reason is that Manu has more spectacular plays and tends to step up more in big moments...

But that's by design, Parker ususually doesn't get those plays.

When we played LA in 04 though, Parker was the best player on the floor, for either team, the first 2 games.

But his time has still yet to come.

I really don't understand hating either of them...

Exactly. C and PG are the two toughest positions in basketball ... by far.

A point guard has to get teammates involved, while scoring enough points to keep the defense honest, while never taking a possession off defensively, while always knowing time and score.

A center has to play solid post defense, while knowing where all other four players are on the court to be ready to play help defense, while rebounding the ball, while scoring in the paint on offense, while not getting in the way of other players, all while not getting in foul trouble.

Shooting guards and small forwards basically need to score seven or eight baskets a game while defending their opponents decently when they have the ball. That's about it. No one cares if they pass the ball, rebound the ball, play help defense or anything like that.

Power forwards have probably the third toughest job, but it's basically the same description of a center minus a lot of the defensive responsibilities.
